Why is Jay Glazer breaking virtually every signing/story? (1 Viewer)

Not something I typically follow unless it has been thrown in my face, and Jay Glazer's prowess over the past 12 hours has certainly got my attention. This morning when I logged onto the board I noticed the few main signings were broken by Glazer. Then I went to pick up my son from school and he also broke the Peppers taking a physical and Taylor meeting with the Bears stories. In fact, I honestly don't remember seeing anyone else (Schefter, Clayton, etc), breaking much of anything today.

Again, this is not something I notice...I never know who the announcers are when watching games, who I am listening to on the radio, etc., but I never in my life went to FoxSports.net and may today, just to get the early "scoop" (I guess their investment in him is working).

The information guys/rumor mongers all seem to get hot for awhile as the one always breaking stories. Adam Scheffter was the guy a couple of years back, Mort had a run before that. Nothing to "prove" this thought, just as I recall.

I'm not sure Mort every had this mantle.

Mort made stuff up like "The Saints have played their last game in New Orleans" in late '05/Early '06. Great job, Mort. By the way, Super bowl Champs, #####.

'Reggie Bush will be the first pick in the draft''Michael Vick will not be charged'

Mort has always come off to me as an 'Entertainment Only' kind of guy. Well, I guess that's how I feel about most of ESPN's crew.

I keep thinking that he had something to him early in his career, then sort of morthed in the joke Mort we know now.

Is he breaking them first on the web in general? I guess I haven't noticed that because I have been using Twitter to get my breaking NFL news and Glazer has been much slower on reporting stuff via Twitter than the ESPN guys. Although I definitely feel like Schefter is a touch slower than he used to be. Possibly because of his move from the NFLN where he might have been given special access to ESPN.
