Why is the draft starting at 3pm? (1 Viewer)

ESPN: 3PM ET - 8PM ET

ESPN2: 8PM ET - 11PM ET

:goodposting:
They switch over like this every year.
I was :lmao: over the time. 8 hours for 2 rounds, even with the shortened time limit?
Theoretically the first 2 rounds could last almost 9 hours.
sorry for misinterpreting, deuce; never occured to me the teams would take less time than alloted. :lmao: espn needs to allot for the time; they'll probablly just do draft analysis a/o go to sportcenter early if it finishes earlier.

Anyone have a good site to check on the draft progress on a crackberry? I'll be on the links until 5 or so. Will there be a pinned thread here? My Crackberry doesn't like the NFL draft tracker site.

pretty sure draftguys are doing a blog

it always goes into prometime. if they start it in primetime, they'll be lucky to get in half a rounf on saturday.
1st round has been cut from 15 minutes to 10, potentially saving 2 hours 40 minutes.2nd round has been cut from 10 minutes to 7, potentially saving 1 hours 36 minutes.3rd round has been moved to Sunday, potentially saving 3 hours 44 minutes.Despite starting 3 hours later, day one could end 4+ hours earlier than last year.
The first two rounds will still end up bieng at least 6-7 hours long, so what he was saying is if they started at prime time (lets call prime time 8pm) the first round of the draft would be just over half way done by 11pm, and the 2nd round would not end until 3am-ishEven with it starting a noon last year (i was there) we walked out the door, litterally at 1130 at night, this move makes sense for the NFL... one of the only usefull things Goodell has done since he came to power!!15 minutes was an obscene amount of time of every team to have to pick... most teams allready know who they are going to pick, they just sit there for 14.5 minutes, hoping they get some crazy rediculous trade offer... whihc happens about less than 1% of the time...This is a good move.. believe it!!BAM
