Why isn't Koren Robinson Suspended? (1 Viewer)

Sorry if this has been answered, but I did a search and couldn't find any definite info on this.

K Robinson was arrested for DUI and had blood alcohol above the legal limit.

Why would this not be a violation of the NFL substance abuse policy, leading to another suspension?

I mean, I know this wasn't a league administered drug test, but is it ok for example to have a trunkful of pot, like Bam Morris, as long, as you didn't fail an NFL test?

Someone help me out on this.

Someone told me today that his case in Minnesota has been pushed by eight months which means he'll be able to play but will likely face a suspension next year. I'm not sure if this is 100% correct so Minnesota homers can chime in with any clarification here.

I think that the case has to go to court before the NFL does anything about it. I could be wrong though.
Dang...dude was just a lil drunk.... :banned: Why you gotta ride him so hard? Not like none of us ever went drinking and driving before...Heck...I'd rather be K'Rob and get a dui than be Ron Mexico and get a std.

But hasn't Thurman's suspension already been announced? What is the difference? I am starting to wonder if KRob will even be suspended at all.

You need to be convicted before you can get suspended.
LB Thurman's Suspension Extended To A YearNational Football League News Wire - [Full Article]

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman will not get on the field this season. Already serving a four-game suspension, Thurman had that ban extended to a year by the NFL on Wednesday, two days after his arrest on DUI charges. The team was notified by the NFL of the extended suspension due to Thurman's violation of the league's substance abuse policy.

Is Koren even on a real roster yet? I know he tried out for GB, but is he actually on the active roster. If he isn't then he won't get suspended. Remember that Ricky Williams never got suspended after his retirement until the first four games of last year because he wasn't on the Miami roster. When he was and got suspended the second time for this year it was immediate.

He's with the Packers. He's played in the last two games.
Well, there goes that theory. In that case, I have no idea why he isn't suspended. I see no difference between Thurman and Robinson unless the decision came quicker because Thurman was in his suspension period? I don't see why Robinson isn't getting the same treatment since neither has been convicted, but both have been arrested.

And if you will excuse my boldness, that's a freakin' disgrace.
I wasn't doing cartwheels about the move either for what it's worth.
I can't believe any team had the gall to sign him. At the least the Vikings took a moral stand.
Like they did with the whole loveboat scandal? How many players were involved? How many truly got punished by the team?Please....

Nobody bats an eye at Ray Lewis, and he killed a couple guys. I think Leonard Little is still playing pretty well too.

I agree, it is a disgrace that someone would sign the man. He clearly needs help.

I am also puzzled why K-Rob seemingly has his suspension pushed back and Thurman has his extended, both awaiting trial.

Maybe in Thurmans case he was already serving and there must be less tolerance when you are already suspended. Still, K-Rob with his past, it would seem that whats good for one should be for all.

KRob a few hours from Milwaukee is a match made in heaven.

Also gives Favre another drinking buddy to hang with.

What could possibly go wrong?

Ray didn't kill anyone, he just covered for his friends that probably did the stabbings.

In the NFL most coaches, GM's, and team presidents are two bad seasons away from being unemployed. In the "what have you done for me lately" high stakes NFL game the more talented the player - the more chances he will get, the more leway he will receive, and more excuses will be made on his behalf in order to give the team a better chance of winning on Sunday.

That's just how it is.

Good thing they don't suspend or fire people at work for getting busted for DUI. The turnover would kill us. Still not sure why it's an issue in sports. I kind of expect it. I guess that's what you get when you lead people to (falsely) believe that atheletes are "role models".

Hypocrites are definitely not in short supply here in the land of the free and home of the brave.

Innocent until proven guilty. He is innocent at this point. He could probably sue the NFL if they did anything based on preliminary evidence and ESPN here say. This is not league drug testing, they did not run the test and have no proof of guilt.

:rolleyes:Favre has been sober for several years and he just may be a positive influence for Robinson considering how Favre beat his addiction to painkillers years ago.
