Why no love for Reggie Williams (1 Viewer)

I just recieved Williams so I'm a new homer I guess but I was looking to acquire him going into our Free Agent night and got him almost at the league minimum. Looking over his #'s with Leftwich I'm extremely impressed.

5 games 39 targets 24 catches 297 yards 4 td's

Fairly consistent also

week 1 10 points

week 2 9 points

week 3 0 points

week 4 21 points

week 5 11 points

one really bad game and one really good game and in the bad game they ran the ball 40 times so just didn't look to pass alot.

I definetly think he is Leftwich's go to guy and if healthy they could have a nice year.

I believe I remember Luck's saying their new OC is an old Pac 10 guy and likes to pass alot as well.

I think this could be a nice season for him and a bargain for me.

What are your guys' thoughts

He'll tease you into being a believer with one big game followed up by one decent game and then he'll dissapear on you. Buyer beware.

Each of the last two years I've drafted him, attempted to trade him, and eventually cut him...

my guess is, most people don't trust Leftwich...
That, plus Reggie was SO bad his rookie year that he had quite a hole to dig out of, especially considering he was in the top 10 with Fitz and ROY, and got completely left in the dust by both of them.Last year he was pretty boom or bust, which drives you insane when he's in your lineup. Plus, the JAX offense basically became the Fred and MJD show down the stretch. Throw in the shaky QB situation, and Matt Jones, Marcedes Lewis and the rookie they drafted (name escapes me) stealing targets, and Reggie is nothin more than a solid WR4 at this point.

You'll find Reggie on most of my survivor teams this year.
There you are. I was waiting for you to get in on this. What's up with the new OC in Jax?Do you think Reggie could leap in the top 20 this year?
Koetter = increase in pass attempts assuming all other factors being equal. After entering the NFL as a Junior, Reggie has improved every year he's been in the league and is the only reliable WR threat on his team.100 receptions is not an unthinkable ceiling for Reggie this year. The risk is obviously consistent QB play, but I see low downside and high upside.

He finished last year ranked as the 48th wr. 52 if you're going on a ppg basis.

If you're looking for late round crap that might stick Williams seems as mediocre a bet as many other wr's.

Interesting sleeper for next year. I have him on three of my dynasty squads and am not planning on trading him anytime soon.

He dominated in college, was a top 10 pick, has improved every year in the league, and is still only 23 years old. He has a chance to step up. It'll be interesting to see how he responds.

 most of these dummies act as if he's been around 8 yrs and hasn't shown the ability to produce in any circumstance...let them be

it'll be our little secret :nerd:

Yes, when they bench Leftwich
How well did Reggie do once they benched Gary Coleman jr?
:lmao: I got banned once from the Jags message board for using the Gary Coleman reference.

Hey that's great, but why not include all 6 games Leftwich played? They both should be available late in a survivor league, so assuming you can survive week 4, I'd take a chance on both Reggie and Jones.

Watching the Jags I thought Wilford had the most upside based on talent.

All of them are too erratic though.

You also wouldn't stop about how much better Garrard was. Grain of salt here.
Both of them are bush league at best. When the city starts calling into the sportstalk radio stations wondering why Quinn Gray isnt in there, your pretty bad. Unfortunately the Jags blew it this year and passed up many opportunities to improve the offense, ie Brady, Steve Smith, etc etc.one has to wonder why we were so hyped to shore up our defense when the only hole in it was a free safety, and yet last year when the whole D was banged up, the Jags still boasted the #2 D in the league. This draft is just a prelude to a move to LA. My season tickets are a waste!

Um, and replace him with who?
Could have been Quinn if the draft plan wasn't written in finger paint.

Can't answer the original question?

Not that it matters much, but he does turn 24 in 17 days.

Um I'm sorry I thought I'd answer the question I quoted, just like I did when I answered the question before that. If there was a hidden question that I missed, please let me know. BTW do you draft for JAX? it would explain a lot.

No hidden question, as you did quote my post.I don't fully understand what you are getting at with the latter part of your post. :scared:

The city  You're tuned into the banana phone in JAX? When "the city" calls in for the Reds to bench Adam Dunn, most of just  :wall:

The city :bye: . That's rich.

Leftwich = Comeback Player of the Year 2007

Moving away from the silliness, I think Reggie has some upside and is still very young. But the problem I see is that there are a lot of receiving mouths to feed on that team, and that's not including Marcedes Lewis, who will likely command a bigger role this year.

Add on the fact that Leftwich is erratic, and Del Rio prefers to run the ball, that doesn't leave a lot of passing stats to be gathered.

You cannot deny Jacksonville is the largest city in the US, in terms of square footage at least.

I hope your right about LEftwich, but come on, he sucks.

Excellent QB, for me to poop on.

PS. Frank Frangi is the "authority" on jax sports. he has many leatherbound books.
