Why no love for Sidney Rice (1 Viewer)

I'm making this thread using the "eye-test" and not looking at stats but it seems MSW, who is having a Pro Bowl season, has performed on par to another player who just like him up until this year was labelled over-rated and had under performed. I think Sidney Rice deserves a little love from the fantasy community as he is also having a break out season. Could this all go away after Favre leaves/retires though? Just a thought.

Favre believes in him, and is constantly talking about how nobody can cover Rice. Tons of confidence in him. Take that for what it's worth. Rice is big, fast and athletic, and is the perfect mold of a WR1. There was lots of hype about him when he came out of the draft, and he's hitting his third year breakout. Could he fall apart without Favre? Who knows. But there are lots of reasons to think he's the real deal.

That's what most people are wondering.
Losing Farve after this season or next would/could hurt, but there is a reason the good dynasty posters (Im not including myself, just to be clear) preach talent over situation. Rice is only 23 years despite this being his third season in the league. He was raw coming in and looks to be realizing the potential many saw in him.The Vikings future QB situation is murky but I see their pursuit of Farve as both a recognition of a weakness on the team and a willingness to address it.

Too many people fall for the unheralded 'sleeper' types because they want a reason to puff themselves up. Too many are also way to quick to write off really talented players who are drafted high but time to develop.

Rice is more talented than Walker by a bit.

in my league:

sims-walker 14.77 points per game #6wr per game

sid rice 13.5 points per game #11 wr per game

really close. msw has been one of the most consistent wrs this year when hes not out bangin chicks all night

That is the million dollar question though, does this guys production stay consistent even when Favre leaves? I think the Vikings being a run oriented offense really help out Favre and thus help Rice as well. Favre doesn't seem to be breaking fown like he was when he was with NY last year so I could see him sticking around for one more year. Sims-Walker still has a younger QB throwing to him in Garrard. It's going to be tough to tell who to keep between the two.
