Why on earth are the Redskins rated #1 DEF... (1 Viewer)

Looking to take a flier on a DEF just in case MIN or MIA don't hold up, but looking at the ratings and the Redskins are rated #1 for the rest of the year. Someone chime in and let me know what I'm missing, because I just don't see it. Not the greatest matchups in the world either.

Nope, they have it listed that way on the Custom Top 250. Put in PPR league and TD, and there they are in first.

1 TD1 Washington Redskins 10 7.8 77.0 84.8 10.4

2 TD2 Pittsburgh Steelers 6 9.3 66.2 75.5 6.4

3 TD3 Tennessee Titans 6 8.5 64.4 72.9 5.1

4 TD4 Baltimore Ravens 2 5.5 64.7 70.2 4.0

5 TD5 Philadelphia Eagles 7 12.0 57.5 69.5 3.5

6 TD6 Carolina Panthers 9 11.4 56.4 67.7 2.8

7 TD7 Chicago Bears 8 7.4 57.5 64.9 2.0

8 TD8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10 9.6 54.6 64.3 1.7

9 TD9 New York Giants 4 9.5 53.9 63.4 1.5

Getting back to the original question............WTF am I missing?

That is strange. Redskins are ranked 27th in our FF league. They have a good NFL defense but they don't put up FF points. They have 1 INT in the last 5 games and 0 defensive/special teams TD on the year.

I suppose if a FF league awarded points for yards allowed the Skins would be ranked higher.

i was about to start the same thread.

jason taylor and shawn springs are also coming back...

they have an excellent DEF but yes, they do not tend to put up fantasy points. wondering if i should drop the eagles for them...

It probably has something to do with their schedule.Sun 11/16 Dallas 8:15 pm Sun 11/23 at Seattle 4:15 pm Sun 11/30 NY Giants 1:00 pm Sun 12/7 at Baltimore 1:00 pm Sun 12/14 at Cincinnati 1:00 pm Sun 12/21 Philadelphia 1:00 pm Sun 12/28 at San Francisco 4:15 pm All their games against Division opponents are at home and all their road games are against less than stellar offenses.

I guess this depends on your scoring system. In my custom scoring system, the Skins are 14th:

TD10 Miami Dolphins 4 12.6 64.3 76.9 1.0

TD11 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10 11.1 65.4 76.5 1.0

TD12 Minnesota Vikings 8 8.6 66.2 74.8 1.0

TD13 San Diego Chargers 9 10.1 64.1 74.2 1.0

TD14 Washington Redskins 10 7.4 64.3 71.7 1.0

TD15 Dallas Cowboys 10 9.2 60.1 69.2 1.0

Maybe your scoring system rewards things the Skin's are good at? Maybe yards allowed, or points allowed are more valuable than interceptions/fumbles/etc.

Standard FBG scoring has the Skin's 12th:

165 Def10 Def10 Green Bay Packers GB/8 31

171 Def11 Def11 Carolina Panthers Car/9 25

177 Def12 Def13 Washington Redskins Was/10 19
