Why Sims-Walker was inactive (1 Viewer)

Yeah, I'm sure fantasy owners forgive him.

Everyone wants to know why Jaguars receiver Mike Sims-Walker was deactivated for Sunday’s 41-0 blowout at Seattle.

Well, the answer is simpler than you think.

Sims-Walker missed bed check Friday night due to a late-night rendezvous with a lady friend, according to an NFL source, who described the situaton by saying, "undefeated and untied."

There guys, mystery solved.

Posted this is the MSW thread, but what the heck does this mean?RW quotes it like they get it: "Hope she was worth it. Speaking to the Florida Times Union, a source described the situation as "undefeated and untied.""

If you're undefeated and untied at this point of the season, you're 5-0-0.

He snagged a 500lb whale.

Ok, I got nothin.

That's worth deactivating a player for an entire game? JDR deserves full credit for last week's loss and shouldn't be too surprised to find himself on the unemployment line come January.

Full disclosure: I won by 11 points even being force to take a goose egg from MSW.

Could have he avoided this by bringing her back to his room for a "home game"?

I hope she was good because if he was making $1 mill and was docked his game check that works out to be $62,500. Pretty expensive booty call.

Based upon the severity of the punishment, you'd think he hooked up with Del Rio's daughter...

Who is pretty hot I think...

He doesn't lose the pay. "Undefeated and untied" means that when a man has a choice between a beautiful woman and something else the woman wins every time. BTW please don't feel the need to comment if the saying doesn't fit you.

I don't think the Player's Agreement allows a team to dock his salary for unauthorized sex  (or for missed curfew).

This chick just took over Jessica Simpson's spot as the evil fantasy football vixen. (with Tila Tequila coming in 3rd) :whoosh:

JDR deserves full credit for his team losing last week because he benched MSW? You really think he would have made that much of a difference?

Well, I'm sure he was part of the game plan they practiced all week, so when you take that out and have to do something else, I can see how it could all unravel on you, but there's no way to know if they would have won or lost. And if they lost, it might have been in a less embarrassing manner.

well, Sims-Walker wont take any of the blame for that goose egg. somehow I think this will work more to his advantage.either way, I agree it is important to maintain rules and if he didnt follow the rules, I guess he gets what he gets. While I agree the penalty is harsh, if that was mentioned in advance and he knew this was the penalty, then he shouldnt have gone out to play.

I'm not sure it would have made a difference, but it is clear that JDR can't see the forest for the trees and one could argue his team quit on him last weekend as a result of this move. I have a hard time believing the Seahawks are that good.

Of course it's worth holding him out. If you don't punish that severely you'd have guys running around at all hours of the night before the game. I think that's one rule you can't disregard.

MIKESIMSWALKER what up jag nation i want to apologize for my lapse in judgment last week. it wont happen again! stick wit me and stick with us!
From twitterLapse in judgment is such a horrible excuse...

Dear Jack,

I just wanted to let you know that it warms my (cold, dead) heart that someone is carrying on the tradition of Buddy Parker and Vince Lombardi.

Sincerely,

Bobby 'hungover in hell' Layne

How many times you think Michael Irvin Missed curfew? Brett Favre?

This isn't summer camp, it's the NFL. These are grown men. Like I said previosuly, a REAL coach would've made him run (and possibly his roomate/all the team etc) windsprints Monday morning at 5 am, or even better study film next Friday night until at least the time he got back this Friday. Or something like carrying all the teams jocks to the laundry. Or woulda told the other senior team players to "handle the young kid" with some form of internal hazing.

But instead Del Rio is acting like a drill sergeant. Read your Machiavelli Del Rio, it's better to be feared than loved, but you've got to do your best to play both sides, not opt for one of the other.

Coughlin used to have a lot of candyazz rules when he first came to the G-men. Told everyone on-time means 5 minutes early, then set all the building clocks 5 minutes fast (e.g., on-time was now 10 minutes before the meeting starts). He had a gazillion rules and would nickel and dime everybody the whole TC.Tiki, Strahan and one or two other vets went to him and said 'Look, if you want us to trust you, then you gotta trust us...you're trying to do the role of what the veterans on this team do. Back off. We'll keep everyone in line - and if we don't, then we'll go back to your way'.Give TC credit. He listened to his players, and they held each other accountable. He's still a detail oriented task master, but he eased up on enforcing the petty stuff.Every team and every locker room is different. IMO, though, you can't reach modern athletes trying to use a top-down 60s style my way or the highway. Everyone lets JdR off the hook, says 'hey, it was 41-0, one guy wasn't going to make any difference'. Maybe. Or maybe he lost the team with something that was the straw that broke the camels back. All I know is his defense def quit on him - the lack of effort in the Seahawks game was astonishing. Maybe the MS-W inactive was a coincidence, but I tend to think there is a direct correlation. We've seen it before. You can preach fire-and-brimstone every week if you want, but pretty soon your voice becomes white noise. Going to be an interesting final 2/3rds of a season down there in NE Florida.
