The owners simply cannot afford to do away with games or cancel the season. Why?
Because of the networks. The networks would lose immense amounts of money with no football.
I know the owners get network money with or without the strike...
But it seems like suicide to piss off CBS, FOX, NBC and ESPN.
Heck, I've already seen commercials on NBC advertising sunday night football for this fall.
How mad will they be if the owners take that away?
It's been said over and over, but these guys can't think they are immune. If they piss off fans AND their networks that provide them with the bulk of their money.....
I've said it for months and I'll continue to believe that this is all for show and posturing. When July gets here, the two sides will both buckle, get a deal, and move on with football.
There simply is too much to lose.
