Why was this not a sack? (1 Viewer)

Pretty sure it's because, whenever there is a forced fumble, the person who forced it always gets the solo. It's crazy but that's how it works. I've always noticed that, even if someone wraps a guy up and is taking him to the ground, if someone else comes and punches the ball out, they get the solo and not the guy who actually tackled him, if that makes any sense. So, it was a sack by Bryant until Kruger stripped him, and at that point it became a sack and forced fumble by Kruger.

I like the theory, but he got the half tackle (at least on CBS Sports) - although they didn't give him 1/2 a sack

Actually you're right, he did get an assist on that play, but like I said, Kruger got the solo strictly because he forced the fumble. It's a weird rule because Bryant was the one who tackled him, wish Bryant could get the sack and Kruger the forced fumble, but it doesn't work that way. I just don't know why Bryant would have an assisted tackle on that play but not half a sack. I guess just because they can't award a full sack to Kruger and a half sack to Bryant.
