Wi-Fi Extenders (1 Viewer)

Do these things work well? I have crummy reception in my basement, thinking of getting one now that I have a smart TV. What should I look for? TIA

They do. Have the router upstairs and used to get very poor reception in the living room for the Xbox. Put a range extender in the kitchen and it gets full signal now.

I use a 2nd router as an access point behind the DHCP. Have had luck with wifi extenders too.

A friend told me they need to be hard wired to have any value - that the ones that extend the wifi just plugged in the wall are garbage. Anyone?

Mine works great. Two separate networks, one for the other corner of my house the wifi has never reached well, and one for the out building. I bought mine from Costco because I was nervous it wouldn't work and I wanted to be able to take it back if I didn't like it. I happily kept it.
