Does the Demps cut speak to their confidence in Butler or are there other issues?

I have to double check....so don't hold me to this, but I believe Demps was put on IR.
EDITED: I'm wrong, he was given an injury settlement for his elbow injury and cut.

I think there were multiple factors.1. Demps didn't impress this coaching staff in the offseason any more than the last coaching staff.2. They wanted Gibril Wilson in the big play FS role.3. Butler was a better SS option than Demps and the front office has been a big on Butler since last offseason.4. Michael Johnson (7th round pick 2007) was apparently impressive in camp.5. Demps may not be a solid special teams guy (speculating, don't know for certain).

This was surprising ... I'm curious if they had any talks with Seattle about Boulware?
