I thought I would resurrect this thread into the present day as Stovall has been heaped with praise and currently is slated to start along side Mike Williams.

TAMPA - Maurice Stovall finished the 2009 season as one of the Bucs' starting wide receivers. At the rate the former Notre Dame standout is going, he will start the 2010 season in the same capacity.
While rookie fourth-round draft pick Mike Williams has emerged as the wideout to beat in the battle for the starting X receiver spot, Stovall has emerged as the wideout to beat in the battle for the starting Z spot.
"Right now he's with the 1's," Bucs receivers coach Eric Yarber said of Stovall, who caught 24 passes for 366 yards and a touchdown last year. "He's having a real good camp."
Apparently, he's not alone. Michael Clayton and Arrelious Benn are playing well enough to steal that starting job from Stovall, but Stovall definitely has the edge.
"I like his work ethic, his range and the way he gets in and out of his breaks," Yarber said of Stovall. "And I really like his mental approach. Everything he does is just so professional."
The battle for playing time at receiver was expected to be one of the more intriguing of this camp, and it has proved to be just that. There's even a battle going on at the slot receiver position.
That starting job still belongs to Sammie Stroughter, who emerged as a starter during last year's camp and wound up catching 31 balls in 13 games. He doesn't have a lock on the position.
