Will Pierre Thomas step right in and be the 49ers go to rb? (1 Viewer)

Any 49ers homers have any idea on how the team will use Thomas? It seems to me like he may have some value for the next few weeks (Hyde's return seems uncertain) and could be "the man" for SF at least in the short run.

Any thoughts?

Hyde is much better and absolutely sucked playing from behind in that same situation. Thomas probably catches some passes but I doubt he's very efficient with his touches. With Gabbert playing teams will respect the pass even less than they did with Kaepernick, who will probably see some starts again before the year is over. There will be even less room to run than we've seen recently in SF.
