Will the Bills bench many of their skill players at some point this week? (1 Viewer)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with a Chiefs win do the Bills have anything to play for in week 17? Or if the game is a blowout? Could we see Allen only playiing a half or less? Same with Cook, Cooper and Shakir? If I was decimated at RB and was forced to play a low tier player, I would consider Ray Davis. If the Bills bench a lot of their starters I would bump Breece Hall and Adams even more. This would increase Rodgers' value some as well. I still think Wilson is a medium risk regardless, because Adams is hot right now.

They need one more win to clinch the 2 seed.

Guaranteeing a 2nd home game should they win the first one, is in a nut shell what they are playing for. Plus, they only have to win one of the next two. They play at NE next week. What you posted gives hope for at least playing their starters until the game is out of reach...but.....I'm not 100% convinced they do that with everyone. Allen is probably safe given the #2 seed angle. Or maybe I'm overthinking this.

I don’t think they’ll rest this early. The two seed is definitely something over which one competes hard. The advantage Buffalo has at home over a team like Baltimore, Denver, or Los Angeles is pretty significant. Especially L.A. and Baltimore. Those places never even get within a nitro burning funny car of zero degrees. Buffalo has that as a weekly event in January.

NE on the road is not a pushover, they just had a competitive game, no way Buffalo is just chalking that up as an automatic win. And as mentioned above the #2 seed has a good deal of value.

If it's a blowout early maybe the Bills skill players would have already produced and I think they start to rest players like Allen, Cook, and Shakir. They may play Ray Davis a lot anyway if things are clickinig well for them offensively. They may do this to a lot of starters in the 2nd half if the game is in their control.

I don’t see how it’s any different than any other game they play, really. They’re not going to be resting guys until the game is firmly in hand.

Now, if you think that’s going to happen, then that’s one thing. If you think it’s going to be a reasonable game, there’s no reason to think that they’ll rest their guys out of injury concern.

As far as Davis, I haven’t followed the RB usage of the Bills because it hasn’t been a concern to me this year. Cook was always going to be too expensive in dynasty and I don’t roster him anywhere, so your guess is as good as mine regarding how they use Davis/Cook/Johnson.

Like I said, I'm probably wrong on this, but it is on my radar.

They go 3 quarters at least. I don't believe this is a blowout but if it is than 3 quarters for sure. Do we think the defense in it's current state will allow for us resting the offense? I don't.

Yeah, I'm sure this is much to do about nothing, but it popped into my head this morning.

I think the Bills go hard in this one. If they're up 20+ in the 4th they might dial it back but your guys should have gotten theirs by then if that's the case. I do think the Jets give them a fight though.

I appreciate the thought. I'd rather bring up a question and be wrong than disregard it and have it come back to bite me.

As for overthinking things, tis the season. I've been setting and resetting my lineups 2-3 times per day all week, based on every bit of news I read.
