Will the Jets make the playoffs? (1 Viewer)

Call me crazy but I think these Jets are designed to go to the Playoffs this year. I think that Running Attack with Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory is way above average. When you see the #2 guy bust off a 71 yard touchdown run, that makes you happy. If Geno Smith struggles, Michael Vick is eager for a new start in New York. I'm not crazy about their receiving core but I think Decker will be able to make a few plays.

To my knowledge, their defensive line is one of the better in the league? I know they have Wilkerson who puts up decent sack numbers. Depending how this year goes, 8 - 8 could put you in. Miami, Buffalo, and New England are all pretty evenly matched in the 1st time in awhile. I can see the Patriots digging deep to win it but after that it's up for grabs. I think Miami's Week 1 win was a product of home field advantage.

8-8 won't make it in.

I thought before the season started that they could make the playoffs, but injuries and Patterson's MIA/ensuing cut really hurt the secondary. McDougal was poised to make an impact in the secondary. Hopefully Milliner makes it through this game without re-aggravating the ankle.

It all depends the upcoming stretch of games - some really good passing teams. Can they steal a couple of games?

Buffalo (at least after one game) doesn't look like a push-over anymore. Miami is always a tough couple of games.

We'll see, but yeah, the offense should be improved to at least average this year after adding CJ, Decker, and Amaro. Second WR is still a weakness.

The defense was looking good until the the depletion at CB.Luckily Allen has transitioned well from safety so far. Pryor looks like a future stud at safety. Babin adds pass rush pressure. Barnes will help after he gets off the PUP. The D-Line are already studs.

LOL, no.

The Jets do have a top-15 Defense, but there's just no way Geno Smith gets them more than 7 wins this year. Even if Vick ends up starting, it doesn't look any better based on how pitiful his lone pass attempt was to a wide-open Decker in endzone last week.

I agree the Pats are beatable this year, but the Jets are the worst team in their division IMO. A lot of breaks would have to go their way for them to have a shot at winning it.

I like the Dolphins this year, along with the Pats naturally, out of the AFCE.

I do think the Jets can be right there in contention until the very end. They needed another WR playmaker IMO. If they get behind they can't keep up. But I think they will be battling it out for a WC berth right through the final 2 weeks of the season.

I like Geno, think he's on his way, and they have a stud defense.

I think Buffalo will prove to be the worst team in the division.

Jets are a good call to be a playoff team, I think.

Its not out of the realm but they need to improve a lot on offense to get there. We'll see how they do in division games.

Geno has looked much better....big test for him next few games....Jets will have to put points on the board and he cant make mistakes....Jets IMO can finish anywhere from 7-9 to 10-6 depending on health and luck....wish Idzik didnt go so cheap at CB...with $21M in reserve he could have signed one solid CB

He got them 8 last year despite an inordinate number of turnovers.

If he can cut down on the TOs, and last week was not very promising, and take what the defense gives him, he can improve upon last year. His ability to scramble brings a key element.

The defense should be good, particularly the massive front. It's the secondary that concerns me - Sunday should be a big test for them.

It would take the Patriots and Dolphins falling apart. Jets won't get the Wildcard over the Chargers/Broncos, Titans/Colts, unless some whacky stuff happens.
