Will the Ravens offense resemble the old Vikes? (1 Viewer)

Will they finally open it up or do we have Jamal to look for getting 25 carries per game? Was McNair brought in to just manage the game? Or will he be asked to win it? What will Billick do? They have some very nice offensive weapons but will they use them?

Homers?

Oh I think you are going to see this offense take off some. They've been handcuffed by shoddy QB play forevah!

Billick is going to us his weapons. Let's not forget that Mason and McNair were a great tandem in Tennessee.

I don't think they'll approach those Vikings teams, but they are going to be way better. That is until McNair is inevitably hurt and "miraculously soldiering" through another season.

At this point in his career, McNair isnt going to consistently WIN games for any team.Hes going to be a very good game manager for them, and should be expected to throw for 200-210 yards a game, and keep the mistakes to a minimum.

McNair's career YPG: 183McNair's last five year's YPG: 212

McNair's last three year's YPG: 208

McNair's single-season high YPG is 230, during his co-MVP season in 2003.

The Ravens' offense was not conservative in 2005; they ranked #8 in pass attempts and #21 in rushing attempts.

I honestly cannot believe there isn't more talk about the Ravens offense for '06.

McNair >>> Boller

McNair ----> Mason

Clayton's not a rookie anymore

Heap is healthy

Jamal should be healthy

OL intact (Mulitalo is healthy, while Brown will be replaced with either Pashos or Adam)

I really feel the Ravens could leap from #24 in total yardage to a Top-10 finish. While we're on the topic, I could see the Saints leap from #20 to Top-10 also.

Old Brian Billick, yeah this guy is good. I have reviewed his offensive coordinator resume and the only thing that jumps out at me is, "innovator of the prevent offense".

i'd think Billick's job is on the line in '06, make the playoffs or walk the plank..same with Fassell..this offense is easily going to rank in the top 10 in total yards and passing TD's, IMHO..not only does McNair make the offense better, but Billick can now use the wide-opened attack he was known for in Minny. They've been using a watered-down playbook over the past few years with the QB's they've had come thru town, including Boller..

I know that Mason lead the league in targets when he was with McNair. He should be a very good 2 WR for fantasy.

Many people incorrectly give Billick credit for the Vikings' offense while he was there. It was Denny Green's offense, Denny Green's players and Denny Green's playbook. Billick, having no offensive coordinator experience before Minnesota was brought to Minnesota to call the plays and ensure Denny Green's wishes were carried out.

And the offense greatly under performed with Billick, with the exception of Moss' first year.
