Will the real Ronnie Brown please stand up? (1 Viewer)

I just traded for Ronnie Brown, but I'm confused. He's barely Top 20 in the Top 250 Forward, having moved down numerous spots after last weeks game. He's splitting time with R. Williams, who had his first great game of the season last week. He's described as a mediocre individual fantasy back in the Week 11 Matchup Info writeup. HOWEVER, four out of five guys in a certain web article name Ronnie Brown as a top RB to have for the remainder of the season.

WHICH RONNIE BROWN DO I OWN???

If Miami plays well, Brown'll be fine, but Ricky is on fire right now and this is a full-blown RBBC, so the potential for an airball in any given week goes up. Still the schedule should keep him a good RB2 at worst.

Owners with both Brown and Williams may be well served to start both this week against the Raiders, and also in Weeks 13 and 16 at the Rams and Chiefs, respectively.I would particularly recommend this strategy if you consider your team to be a "favorite" in your weekly matchup(s), as this strategy makes it more likely that your RBs will have neither a very high nor a very low scoring week.

The fantasy Gods don't like me. We play a doubleheader in week 11 only. So which RB's do I face? One owner has Ronnie Brown and Jerrious Norwood (he'll play him over Brandon Jacobs), the other owner has Michael Turner and Rickie Williams. Opponents? Freakin' Bronco D and Raider D's both at home. It's gonna be a bloodbath.

Yeah, the regression to RBBC has been a bit of a surprise. Ronnie is still the best offensive player on the team so he'll be plenty involved. Lots of cake match-ups. I personally think the top 250 ranking is a little low, but I don't get paid for my opinion so take it FWIW.

Doubleheader. Thats an interesting and a new concept to me. I like it. Do you do this so that you can face everyone in your division twice? I assume you are just being scored against 2 different teams this week. Interesting. I woudl love to hear more.Sorry for the hijack.I like the fact that Ronnie seems to get the bulk of the carries inside the 5 yard line. He is still scoring TDs. I definitely had hoped for a larger role for him by now, but Ricky has earned his role in the offense, and I dont see why Sporano would stray from the current RBBC. There could be some clunkers in Ronnie's future.

We have a week 11 doubleheader as well. 12 teams, three divisions, regular season ends week 13. The doubleheader week gives us 14 games, so we play each team in our division twice and the rest of the teams once. Allows for a balanced schedule and a three week playoff without needing to play Week17.

This is our exact situation.

for those who actually watch the dolphins, do most of ronnie's carries come out of the wildcat and ricky's out of a regular formation? seems like ronnie has really been steadily average lately, mainly because of TDs. i have ronnie, ricky, willis mcgahee and marshawn lynch for my playoff push and only have to start two. i've been leaning toward ronnie and lynch, but may swing over to willis and lynch. don't mean to turn this into a WDIS.

I think Ronnie will be fine. Looking at Ricky Williams 51 yd romp from the Wildcat formation it's easy to start thinking Williams has turned the tide, but it ebbs and flows. Just one more thing for defenses to account for (which can only help Brown going forward).

Personally, Brown would sneak into my top 15 (of the top 250 forward). Solid #2 fantasy back right now. Whoever deemed him a "mediocre fantasy back for week 11" was off IMO. I think he is a fine RB1 for tomorrow's matchup against the Raiders. 16-100-1 is my guess.

Top 250 Forward massacres his value. Lagging trends are nearly useless in fantasy football, and that's all this list seems to track.

Agree on the lagging trends comment. That list does seem to be at least a week behind the "curve" that one needs to beat when playing among (I hate the term "sharks") veteran ffers.

I'm benching him for Leon this week. Stupid Ricky Williams.
This belongs in the ballsy/crazy/stupid/genius/whatever thread. Leon surely has a chance to rack up FP, especially in a PPR, but the matchups don't get any juicier than this one. Even if Ronnie splits carries evenly, any one of those carries could turn into fantasy gold against this poor STL team.
