Will we ever see these two RB's again? (1 Viewer)

Kenny Irons or Brandon Ore?

Irons was drafted by the Bengals...tore his ACL and then released. Shouldn't he be healed by now?

Brandon Ore gets kicked out of Virginia Tech....does well at a D II school and performs very well at the combine(minus 40 time). Nobody brought him in?

oddly enough I thought this thread was about Benson. THen I remembered that he did show up again in Cincy

Then these two guys you asked about. Irons is done. The college kid, I have no idea

Branden Ore was immature, unmotivated, and honestly not that talented. There are better places to look for sleepers IMO.

Did we ever see them in the first place?
Should've.....Ore was a Prep All American....rushed for 1,137 and 16 TD's as a soph and 992 as a junior....then dismissed from Virginia Tech. Ran for 1,257 and 20 TD's this past season.Combine numbers jumped out at me Short shuttle 4.08(tied for first among RB's), 10'7 broad jump (2nd among RB's behind Beanie at 10'8), 6.85 3 cone drill(tied for 3rd...Bernard Scott at 6.82, Moreno 6.84).Kenny Irons (49th overall pick) in the 2007 NFL Draft.

Yes, I am aware of who they are, but as pros they've had a total of zero carries. Thus why I mentioned we hadn't seen them.

Neither does Moreno or Wells.

Irons and Ore are nowhere near the talent level of Moreno or Wells. Moreno and Wells also have not failed an NFL physical after attempting to come back from a major knee injury as Irons did last year.ETA: Moreno and Wells weren't kicked off their NCAA team either.

I didn't know Irons failed his physical....that would've answered my original question. But all my responses have been typical SP responses. Thanks for some factual information.

Ore flashed some talent, but I think his play actually regressed at Va. Tech. It could probably be attributed to both injuries and attitude. He and Irons were instinctive backs, but neither were particularly strong. With so many capable RBs who can come to a team and contribute right away, I think staying healthy and having a good attitude is tantamount to getting any future opportunities. Unless you're a first-day pick in the draft and just suffered nagging injuries, then I think it's very easy for NFL teams to pass on a player who needed major surgery and possibly hasn't fully recovered or a player with a character issue who regressed and lacked top-shelf athleticism.

Ore was someone I was keeping my eye on, but the fact that he couldn't even get an invite from any of the teams speaks volumes to me.

Strange that Irons couldn't recover from an ACL tear, something that RBs generally come back full force in a year, year and a half. He was a first day pick, so I thought he might get a chance somewhere.

Didn't he have one (1) nice like 8 yard run in pre-season when he got hurt?

:bag:

FWIW.....

Info from A friend of a friend of a friend type deal

Irons and Ronnie Brown were being rehabbed at the same clinic down in Bama. Brown took it seriously, Irons would never show up, and supposedly was out partying and boozing all the time.

Info straight from the Orthopedic Director......through a friend 5 times over

I am just the messenger here....but You can cross Irons off your list IMO

\Irons looked very good in Camp in 2007, then looked good in the game against the Lions until he pulled a Ki-Jana Carter. I thinnk he would have gotten some work at RB with the Bengals the last two years had that not happened. They were very high on his attitude and speed.Ironically, yesterday I asked "@Auburn" on Twitter whatever happened to him. HIs brother David is a Falcon defensive back.

I find that possible --yet hard to believe. Irons was named Auburn's off sesason work-out star the spring before his junior year, commendng his Spring training.

I agree.....grain of salt type deal, as i heard positive stuff about him pre-draft. Maybe he got his money or maybe his injury was too debilitating
