My Thanksgiving was almost entirely free of political talk, with one bizarre exception. My nephew mentioned that he wanted to buy some dress clothes at Black Friday, including some new ties. This led to the following exchange:
Brother-In-Law: (sarcastically) Make sure you don't buy any oversized red ties, or else you might trigger a bunch of sensitive liberals and they'll accuse you of sexual harassment!
Me: Ummm.........what?
Brother-In-Law: Oh, haven't you heard? That's the theory that the mainstream media has been pushing about Trump. They claim that his large tie is an arrow pointing to his penis. Women everywhere are outraged.
Me: Uh....I consume a fairly decent amount of mainstream media, and I've never heard that theory before. Where did you hear it?
Brother-In-Law: Facebook.
Me: Oh. Anyway, I always assumed that Trump wore large red ties because he has bad taste.
Brother-In-Law: Huh. Well, I guess that could be the reason too.
