So the cheapest get-in Super Bowl ticket prices have plummeted to around $4500, the lowest price in years, and outside of the 2 fan bases, there doesn't seem to be much excitement about it.

I have zero interest in this Super Bowl and haven't watched a single minute of coverage since Championship Sunday.

A lot of people online and on social media are saying they're not gonna watch, so I'm wondering what percentage of people on a football forum are skipping it.

Soooo, you watching or nah?

Can't imagine not watching the SB, especially when it's a great matchup.

Only time in my life I considered not watching the SB was when my team, the Steelers, lost in the AFC championship game(s) and I was still a little to hurt to want to watch and told myself stuff like "I'm not going to watch" but evenually pulled through.

I turned out SB hype over 20 years ago, consider most of that to be for the casual fan who needs to be brought up to speed.

I don't believe 99.9% of people who say they won't watch, at least not those who normally would watch the SB and believe the ratings will bear this out. There is a reason the advertisement spots are over and above normal demand.

I have no real interest in this game, although I'd rather the Chiefs lose. This is akin to the Rams-Pats SB for me. Chiefs even remind me of the 2019 Pats - better on defense, QB who had clearly regressed from his previous peak, an average at best offense with no real stars at WR, boring run game.

Of course. It’s the Super Bowl
Yeah. Invested all this time watching the season play out so have to see how it concludes.

That said, despite the fact that it should be a good game, not overly excited. Don't like or dislike either team. More fun watching when you have a rooting interest, for or against. Would be cool to see Saquan win a championship, so will be rooting for the Eagles.

If I had television I might at least have it on until going to bed at 7:30 or so, not sure how much of it I would actually care to actively watch. But I don't have cable and my tv doesn't have a coaxial input. Not worried about it! The Super Bowl doesn't usually interest me much anyway, but especially this year.

This will be the 4th SB in 7 years I won't watch. Up until then I watched every one since Super Bowl X. I just don't care like I used to.

Besides, it's 80° and sunny all weekend, way too nice to be inside watching 2 teams I couldn't care less about. I might watch the Halftime show on YouTube Monday though.

Honestly for me it's Taylor Swift and Donald Trump that solidified me not watching this years game. Don't have a horse in this race and I'm pretty over both of those personalities which I'm sure will garner screen time so I pass. Going to a freinds, a non-football fan, to hang out and watch movies instead. I'll live.

Seriously? I get that overexposure to anyone not directly involved is annoying, but just look the other way when they pop on. It's easy and effective.

But sounds like your lack of interest runs deeper than seeing shots of POTUS and Ms Swift during the broadcast

One reason I am semi excited about the SB is getting to see the leagues #1 defense against PM and AR.

Yes, I am an Eagles fan. Truth be told, Im not all that excited about watching the game as losing will be more worse than winning will be good. Im just tired of the Chiefs like I was tired of the Pats.

That said, I believe SBs which involve the #1 defense are always exciting and fun to watch.

I never watch the SB coverage leading up to the game. It is mind numbing and absolutely useless and repetitive. Nothing new ever gets said. But I will watch the game. It's football. I watch almost every game all year. No reason to miss the last game.

In addition, I didn't watch any of the Pro-Bowl festivities last weekend. That's just a waste of time. They need to get rid of it altogether.

This sounds to me like you miss hate-watching the Pats in the Super Bowl. j/k

Yep, especially since my son is an Eagles fan.... letting him pick the menu since his team made it. So far cheesesteaks is the only thing he's said so far!

Uh yeah, I'm watching. I'm a football fan, of course I'm watching. Is all the pre-game hype worth watching (including the past week-plus of coverage)? Nah, but the game itself is usually pretty entertaining. Mix in squares games, food and hanging out with folks and yeah it's a good event. I'd rather be at a friend's house for a party but for the third year in a row, I'll probably be at our local church since my kids are in the youth group there and they have it on big screens and do a big BBQ with a potluck as well. My wife works on Sundays so I can't just leave my kids to their own devices for hours on end while I'm out watching the game somewhere.

I’ll watch it. The only question is where do I want to watch it? I don’t particularly want to be surrounded by Eagles fans but that’s probably what is going to happen.
I will watch it at home. If my only option was to watch it surrounded by Eagles fans, then I would pass.
It’s my next door neighbors and they host every Super Bowl party. Would be a little awkward to say no just because the Eagles are in it lol.

I have multiple Fantasy football playoff leagues/contests where I'm still alive. Yes, I'll be watching.

I'm absolutely watching and looking forward to it. I'll go to a party at my neighbor's house which is rare for me but works this year because I'm completely neutral as to this game and don't care at all about either team. The good news is there is little question for me that we have the best teams from the two conferences this year so it has potential to be a great game.

I have a buddy in Philadelphia who is in a similar situation. He's sending his wife and daughter to the party and watching at home by himself.

This is the pee in the shower two types of people statement. There are only two groups; those who do, and those who lie about it. Anyone who is legitimately not watching the Super Bowl is 99% a casual fan who has also not watched it in years past. I'm sure there will be some 1%ers reading this insisting they are avid football fans but also not watching this SB and all I can say is I think you are either a liar or part of a near nil minority.

Not enjoying it, not liking the teams in it, not liking the fan bases of the teams in it, not liking the half time show, etc. etc. etc. is all valid. "Boycotting watching" because of any of this is a lie or a misdirect.

I've seen every Super Bowl except 1 and 6, so sure I'll watch it. I wouldn't blame anyone who wanted to boycott it however ;)

Im part of that tiny minority. I can be an avid fan and not want to watch Mahomes (and Brady before that) in yet another Super Bowl.

Last 7 SBs

KC vs SF: watched (49er fan)
KC vs PHI: didn't watch (sick of Mahomes)
CIN vs LAR: watched
TB vs KC: half-a** watched (went to game, got tix before season started)
KC vs SF: watched (49er fan)
NE vs LAR: didn't watch (sick of Brady)
PHI vs NE: didn't watch (sick of Brady)
All previous SBs since the 70s: watched

I dislike the Eagles probably more than any other sports franchises at this point other than the Phillies (and even now more than the Packers, Yankees, and Braves). I don't dislike the Chiefs (I think their coaching staff is incredible and on-field Mahomes is amazing), but I certainly don't care to see them win another SB and would be much more interested in a new team.

The above comments in mind. I'll still watch because it would feel weird to pay attention to every Sundat meticulously then not care about the final one so I'll watch at home with my family for the squares and to see if I win a few playoff leagues. That said, this would be a rare year where if something better came up - like free greenskeeper passes to the Waste Management Open or something - I would jump on those.

lol...last year was OT....year before 38-35 maybe one of the best ever and came down to final minute.....the two best teams in football....hard to imagine that if you are a member here that you would really conjure up "reasons" not to watch.....if you really like/love the game of football you will be watching....if you don't like football, I get it....but you probably would not be on this site...it's THE game of the year.....whatever...

I watched 5+ games for 18 weeks, every playoff game so far, and have a handful of bets on the game. So I'm undecided.

Go Birds! Saquon for MVP and ruler of all he sees.

I hope you’re the only one there that is happy when the game is over

Not really. There will be some of us who make other plans apart from the game and aren't going to secretly watch. It's not like the only two possible options are watch the Super Bowl or stare at the walls. I'm planning a big activity (indoor waterpark) with my kids since I expect it will be much less crowded on SB Sunday. If the park has a TV there showing it then I won't actively look away, but I'm going to focus on the kiddos.

I’m not going to say I’ll be happy if the Eagles lose but it won’t affect me one way or the other. I have one friend in particular who I hope gets to see one final championship before he passes.

It’s just awkward when you’re at a party with another fanbase and everyone is high fiving and then trying to high five me when I really don’t care?

Thinking of leaving at halftime (with the excuse that my daughter needs to go to bed).

Casually watching it. I usually get excited as we get close and care to write up a pick and what I think will happen, but this year just feels meh. I hope the Eagles win because I don't want to hear about the Chiefs anymore over every other team in the NFL, but I honestly don't really care who wins because it's just not an appealing matchup for some reason.

bolded....there will be no lines for the slides so you should be able to make it back home by second half....kids will be worn out running up to go down again without having to stand and wait...

Definitely watching but I know last year there was similar sentiment since no one really cared about SF in the SB. I think it is a mistake to miss this one, there are a lot of good stories and narratives in this one. Even for casual fans, it is hard to not root for a guy like Saquan who is a good human and has a great redemption story for his career.

I do wonder all those who say they will skip it will turn in if the game is fun around halftime.

Yeah I’d love those that say no to really state why. I can get those sick of KC and the constant discussion of calls going their way hurts the product and interest in the game, but that is kind of the only one I have heard people mention. Not liking either team is fine, but are people only watching if their team is in the SB? Do they only watch their team on Sunday’s during the season and no other games?

I can’t understand not enjoying watching Saquan Barkley play, or the matchups with the skill positions. The stories in the game are good, and there is impressive talent on both teams that make individual efforts worth watching for.
