Will you wear your "I Voted" sticker around today? (1 Viewer)

Will you wear your "I Voted" sticker around today?

  • Yes, because I'm proud I fulfilled my civic duty.

    Votes: 29 32.2%
  • No, because I'm an adult.

    Votes: 61 67.8%

  • Total voters
    90
So I bet you guys turn down the sticker from the dentist also. Whatever.

I actually save mine and wear it some random Tues in February to see how many people ask me "Is there an election today?"

this is really a bug up your butt isn't it, al.
Bugging me?  Not at all.

Amusing me?  Absolutely.

I think it's funny when people feel a social obligation to display that they're going along with the group or they're doing what good people are allegedly supposed to do.  It shows that humans are more herd animals then we like to believe.

the "moral and social imperative" comment gave me a clue. but ok- it's amusing to you. enjoy!

Have you encountered anyone who wasn't aware that today is voting day, but thanked you for making them aware via your sticker?
I was an early voter. And yes I talked to several people who weren't aware that early voting was open or where their polling place was.

Dog update:  sticker is still on Bosley's head after two hours.  We went for a walk around the neighborhood and he got a bunch of comments.  He's asleep now so there's no telling how long he'll be advertising I Voted.

When he was younger, the sticker rarely spent more than a few minutes on his head.  Now he's old and mellow and doesn't seem bothered by the sticker at all.

My daughter was eligible to vote today for the first time, just turned 18, but "forgot" to register. I was kind of pissed about it and let her know as much but whatever, lots going on in her life right now so not too fired up. So there was no school today because they use the schools as voting stations, but my daughter had an appointment to get her senior picture taken. While chatting with my daughter and snapping pics it came up that she was 18, and the photographer asked if she'd voted. Flustered and feeling guilty, she lied and said "yes" to avoid an uncomfortable situation. Well it backfired. The photographer tore the "I Voted" sticker off her own chest and stuck it on my daughter, then took a bunch of pics. Then she took the sticker off my daughter's chest, grabbed her hand and put it on the end of her index finger, told her to wave it towards the camera and smile, and took a bunch more pics. Nearly pissed my jeans when she told me the story. Can't wait to see the photos, may have to buy them.

To answer the question though, I declined the sticker.

and generally, I get a sticker and give it to one of my kids. helps get them thinking about it- and if they want to bring it to school, get's them talking about it.

or I use a few of them as a cod-piece.

When I see that here in Illinois, I figure the kid just voted (D) while impersonating a dead relative

It isn't to me, but I've had discussions with people who won't even admit that humans are animals period, never mind herd animals.
Are these people allowed to vote?  To bad there isn't a quick visual way to know.

Didn't mean to leave anyone hanging but my daughter came over for dinner and took the sticker off my dog's head just after 7 PM.   It was askew toward his right ear and partially detached by that point.

I want that dog to still be wearing that sticker when the 2020 election rolls around.
