Willie Parker more receptions this year? (1 Viewer)

With Pitts new offense can we expect more receptions this year?

Is 50-60 realistic? Or do you think he will be at 30 again....

thoughts?

I think he'll be checked down to more this year with the new pass oriented offense. I put him in the 50-60 range and with his speed that could be some big scores, but on the flip side that may cut his overall yardage on the ground and he may have less fantasy pts unless you have the PPR type of league.

I think the more check-down style of passes out of the backfield may work well in FWP's favor. Being a smaller/faster back like Westbrook, he would certainly do better to have a immediate open field in front of him to work w/ and make people miss. W/ the STillers moving more to these types of dump off plays, FWP could see some nice large game breaking runs; it certainly has benefit the Birds offense.

anymore opinions?
You MUST go to cbssportsline.com and check out their projections for week for FWP.They believe Cleveland's run D will slow him down,o.k.,reasonable assesment, then they project him for 1 carry for 3 yardsSlow down! That's going backwards!

The Steelers threw a lot of screens in the 2nd & 3rd preseason games, even on 1st and 2nd down. They also had Parker lined up as a WR at least a couple times in the 3rd preseason game. I am not sure if this is an indication they'll continue to do this in regular season but that it might be.

I don't think you can go wrong with FWP this season, he is their best skill position player, and as such should have the ball in his hands as often as possible.

He may have less rushing yards, but his touches should increase and normally RB's average a few more yards per reception than per rush. So, I see his TOTAL yardage actually increasing by getting more touches through the air vs ground.BTW, I would love to see 20 TD's from FWP this year-as a keeper league owner!!!

Yes, you're correct. I mistyped that totally.

i didn't see the projections, but he is their #6 rb for the week.
Yeah, this projection doesn't make any sense. He's got a red flag next to him on my CBS league, saying how much he normally eats up the Browns D, specifically "News: In three career starts against the Browns, Willie Parker has 399 yards on 65 carries (6.1 avg.) with four total touchdowns. One game saw him score two touchdowns, another saw him rush for over 100 yards with a score, and the third saw him run for over 200 yards with a score. Analysis: Expect to see Parker do well against a Browns defense which added depth but not much else, especially to help against the run. He should start for all Fantasy owners in all leagues.
