Willie Parker vs Indy (1 Viewer)

On paper, this looks like a choice matchup against Indy's struggling run D. He carried a full load vs Washington, and appears to be 100%. I don't want to give out subscriber info, and I don't know the protocol on these things, but he's ranked below the likes of a Steve Slaton vs Baltimore.

Am I missing something here?

And, if this is out of line with FBG policy, understood, go ahead and delete.

Indy has been better against the run as of late... I'm facing Parker this week though, and it does make me nervous.

I believe Sanders is back for Indy , he transforms their run D ......... although it is still a better matchup than Slaton vs Balt IMO.

PS- how u worded everything seems within the guidlines...

True, I'd forgotten about Sanders. Still, this is FWP who is no slouch against anyone when healthy. If Leftwich is in, you'd think they'd rely on him more heavily.

I wasn't too impressed with the Colts last week despite Sanders being back. Faulk and Green-Ellis combined to average 4.7 YPC with a TD. Neither one of them is a special RB by any means. Parker could be huge this week - especially with Roethlisberger injured.

Exactly what I was thinking. Be interesting to see if/how much the projection changes over the week. I too see at least 100/1 this week.

:goodposting: I was going to post something along the same lines. Parker should get about the same amount carries to himself as Faulk and Green-Ellis shared vs Indy last week. I'm excited to see what he will do with them.

Parker did not practice today. I wouldn't be alarmed since there were quite a few Steelers that are expected to start this week that didn't practice today but just wanted to pass this info along...

Don't have an answer on where he should be ranked, but after having doubts about Willie's chance to contribute to FF rosters given the uncertainty of the last 3-4 weeks, I was very impressed on MNF.

1. He did not seem to be worked in slowly. He got the vast majority of the 1st and 2nd down carries (still no receptions of course).

2. He received a goalline look and easily cashed it in.

3. He showed some very nice cuts on a few runs, one that i remember in particular. In other words, I saw no signs in his first game back that would make me think the knee was limiting him.

I beleive in the Tomlin press conference thread on here- I read that Parker hurt his ankle slightly... that along with his previous injury prob means he takes it easy in practice....

Willie Parker did not practice again today. I wouldn't panic yet but if he doesn't practice tomorrow you might want to start making other plans at RB.

Parker doesn't practice for second straight day

Thursday, November 06, 2008

By Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

One game after returning from a knee injury, Pro Bowl running back Willie Parker did not practice for the second day in a row because of a shoulder injury and might not play against the Indianapolis Colts.

Parker, who missed four games with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, had 70 yards on 21 carries against the Washington Redskins. It is not known when or how he was injured in the game.

Also, Ben Roethlisberger missed practice for the second day in a row, but he will attempt to practice tomorrow in anticipation of playing against the Colts.

FWP in danger of missing Week 10 game

Willie Parker (shoulder) missed practice for a second consecutive day Thursday and is reportedly in danger of missing Week 10.

It's unclear how or when Parker got hurt; he appeared to make it through last Monday night's game unscathed and it was originally thought that FWP sat out Wednesday's practice because Pittsburgh is on a short week. If Parker doesn't return to work Friday, he will probably sit out against the Colts. That would give Mewelde Moore another start. Grab Moore in all leagues. Nov. 6 - 3:39 pm et

:wall: FWP, SJax, RRice and Torain, and I can't settle on two. I may have to start Torain tonight just because he's the only one that's likely to start. :wall:

Man that sucks. As I posted above, I thought he looked really good on Monday and was happy to have him back in the fold. We'll see..

As of this moment Rice and Torain sound like the likeliest ones to play and even Rice has a blurb about being limited..
