day old news but...

Willis McGahee (questionable, ribs) was limited in Friday's practice.

McGahee didn't put in a full practice at all this week, but the Ravens have hinted that he will probably be active. ESPN's John Clayton says McGahee didn't practice well this week, but is likely to play. However, against a Titans defense led by Albert Haynesworth, McGahee isn't an advised RB2.

John Clayton on ESPN just said he is most likely going to play and start, but would probably be limited.

Same thing most have been assuming all week.

going to start......or going to play ?
I think he'll play until he can't play no more. I'm not surprised McGahee is starting. McGahee is simply a means to an end. The Ravens are treating McGahee like a piece of meat. I don't think they give a rats a** about his long-term health or viability nor do I think they have any intention of having McGahee on their 2009 roster. I think they want to protect Ray Rice and give him as much time as possible to learn on the job and ease into meaningful carries. As long as McGahee has two arms and two legs, they'll toss him out there with nary a care. At some point this season, McGahee will go down and won't get back up. It won't come as any surprise to the Ravens coaching staff. They'll just tap LeRon and Ray on the shoulder and say '2009 is now'.

This makes no sense to me. "Let's run McGahee into the ground so we can transition to the new guys" ?? Injured or not, the Ravens aren't going to start and play a guy unless they feel he offers them their best chance of winning games.
