Bills | McGahee might line up in slot

Published Mon Jul 31 1:15:00 a.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Allen Wilson, writing for the Sporting News, reports Buffalo Bills RB Willis McGahee might line up in the slot in offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild's offense. Fairchild plans to use McGahee more as a receiver. However, his route-running skills need some polish.

I'll believe that when I see it.

They already have 2 guys that should be pretty good in the slot in Reed and Parrish, especially with the speedier guys on the outside opening things up in the vertical passing game.

As a McGahee owner in a dynasty, thanks for the info Wannabee. Can you imagine the conversation though?

Steve Fairchild: Willis, we would like you to line up in the slot on this next play.

Willis McGahee: Slot? Where the *% is the slot and what does he do?

Great now, we'll be hearing from McGahee that he's "the best WR in the league" too. Hope this happens a bunch from a fantasy perspective.

this guy already has a reputation of fathering a few kids. i doubt he has any problems finding the slot....i just think he is going to be very disappointed when he finds out what "slot" Fairchild is talking about.

Are his hands really that good?
Nope... Remember that Burger King comercial where they super-imposed the King (It was really Deion Sanders) picking off Bledsoe and taking it back for a TD? That screen pass bounced up off of McGahee's hands...
