in the last group of picks, we've had a JD, a JA, an RA, and a JJ.11.09 JD Drew OF

I hope by the end of the season I'm not regretting this pick as much as I do now. SS is just a freaking cesspool. Ugh.11.12 - Alcides Escobar, SS, KC
Can someone get a hold of ChemX, please?
I think everybody has at least one rotation spot to fill, even the people who've drafted five SPs.WIS rule of thumb is you need to draft a minimum of 900 IP from your SPs. That's 180 IP per arm. Chances are one of the five will either get hurt or underperform.I have five SPs and I'm still looking for more.Feeling the pain for some of you guys that have more than one rotation spot left to fill.
Exactly, which is why I feel bad for the guys that are only 2 or 3 SP deep. Cecil looks like the kind of young starter that's primed to make a step up. Based on what knowledge I can pick up on the fly, I gotta feel good with him as my team's fourth SP.Feeling the pain for some of you guys that have more than one rotation spot left to fill.
That wasn't directed at anyone in general, just a general observation that I think waiting on pitching is a risky proposition, because even the guys who drafted pitching early are going to be hawking insurance policies.Cecil looks like the kind of young starter that's primed to make a step up. Except for SCBF who drafted three top-shelf SPs and hasn't picked another since 3.09. It was an interesting strategy at the time to go SP-SP-SP and has only grown moreso. That wasn't directed at anyone in general, just a general observation that I think waiting on pitching is a risky proposition, because even the guys who drafted pitching early are going to be hawking insurance policies.Cecil looks like the kind of young starter that's primed to make a step up. I don't know about that...you can get by with as little as 750 (800 is definitely doable)...though generally the worse your SP are, the more IPs you need. The catch is you need to ration the IPs so can get enough starts out of them. With the past sims you could juggle that since guys had more than 32-33 starts. You can't really do that that much this time since you will need 5 guys to make all the starts. Maybe if you have 4 guys that end up with 220+ you can get by with 4, but ship has sailed for SCDCI think everybody has at least one rotation spot to fill, even the people who've drafted five SPs.WIS rule of thumb is you need to draft a minimum of 900 IP from your SPs. Interesting, but I'm guessing he erred in not taking an #4 SP IP eater a round or two ago. Well see though.Except for SCBF who drafted three top-shelf SPs and hasn't picked another since 3.09. Almost went this direction last rd, but decided I'd spent too much energy on my defense to draft a D catcher and throw that away. His OPS has to be value at this point though. I think he should get the PA's even if he has to get some from 1b and DH.11.20 Mike Napoli, C
Hoping for a lot of PAs and a non-awful defensive rating. Probably won't get either, but the OPS should still be nice.
If Young gets traded, I think this becomes amazing value. But I have a feeling Young isn't going anywhere.11.20 Mike Napoli, C

It was between him and Cecil. Was kinda hoping to snag Johan later.11.21- Johan Santana (SP)
Gauging interest in a weekend clock. It wouldn't be anything like a half hour; I'm thinking six hour clock during normal daytime (9AM-6PM) hours. It would keep one person from killing the entire weekend.30 min clock still nets one pick a day?
I vote yes.Gauging interest in a weekend clock. It wouldn't be anything like a half hour; I'm thinking six hour clock during normal daytime (9AM-6PM) hours. It would keep one person from killing the entire weekend.30 min clock still nets one pick a day?

anxious?oso can go at XX:57 and I'll pick right behind him.
We've done 27 picks so far today, not counting ChemX's one skip. A round-plus per day is a pretty strong pace ... a shorter clock doesn't change things much.In some Tim Drafts, we've experimented with 15-min clocks. All that really happens is that 2/3 of the draft goes on auto-skip and the same 4 or 5 people make 4 or 5 picks per day. The number of picks per day doesn't really change a lot by lowering the clock down from 60 to 30 minutes.30 min clock still nets one pick a day?
Sure, works for me. Or we could do 3ITC like they do in all the other drafts.Gauging interest in a weekend clock.
