Finally.OK, OK ... all the people who have posted in this thread that "there's no shortstops left": why wasn't Tejada picked up a few rounds ago? Yes, he's 37, but he's Still A Starter and he's got a history of durability. Is he just a total butcher out there these days? No chance he gets 600+ PAs at SS? No chance he does better than D range?
D+ range last year and an OBP under .320 in 2 of the past 3 seasons
I don't think the sim will punish one of Tejada's worst real-life tendencies--grounding into double plays. He's currently 20th in all-time GIDPs (tied with the monumentally slow Ernie Lombardi). With a healthy normal season, Tejada could end the year as high as 12th all-time passing Ted Simmons, Joe Torre and a bunch of not so slow players.
I like the Tejada pick at this point, if fact I was debating on taking him next instead of an arm. I had him as the best 3B left and the 2nd best SS left. That kind of flexability I think is going to be very valuable in this format.

Yeah, even those are getting thin. Hate Nova's park but he's a groundballer. Actually looked at Takahashi too but was worried his IP/G would be too low to be an emergency starter.Innings are starting to get scarce. At least as they are currently projected. i laughed at snc's delivery. i don't doubt this guy will be great and kill the tigers on a consistent basis.
Tejada had a .692 OPS and D+ range last season. I thought about taking him over Yuniesky in hopes of an offensive revival, but at 37 I think it's more likely he keeps going downhill.It's not that there haven't been shortstops left, there just hasn't been any value there. After you nabbed Asdrubal it was just a big pile of baseline-level guys.
I'm hoping Takahashi gets enough RL starts to end up with an IP/G > 2.0. WIS pitchers who can give you 25-30 pitches can be pretty useful and are extremely rare in modern MLB.
