With Leftwich tossing the rock . . . (1 Viewer)

I know these WR's don't float anyone's boat, but these are easy waiver wire picks right now. Horn has been invisible, White has shown some speed, and Jenkins is still showing glimmers of hope? :lmao:

Anyhow, someone is going to be targeted alot, and in a deep PPR league that could be useful . . . provided they catch the ball.

How do Leftwich's abilities translate into who he might favor as a primary target?

Thoughts?

Harrington - as watching how bad Lefty is will only boost his confidence. And having a week off to rest, recuperate will be good for the mind and body.

Roddy White has finally show (more than very rare) flashes of being a decent receiver with some upside. I have no idea as to Leftwich's predispositions nor do I know anything about Falcons in practice, but White is probably your best bet to be "startable" at some point this season. As of now he is already a decent bye replacement and a top 30-40 WR (again, with upside)

I don't have much faith, but a pretty complete discussion of the matter is Here

Are we seriously going to have a whole 'nother thread about Leftwich and who will benefit? I guess the multi-page "Leftwich to start" thread doesn't contsin enough info on the subject?

You know... some people don't sit on here all day, looking to see what has already been talked about. Also, using the search function is annoying. Why don't you do something that is very simple... MOVE ONTO ANOTHER THREAD! If you aren't interested in talking about this, or seeing what others have to say, then why on earth do you bother opening the thread, and posting to boot? Obviously, some of the other posters found this thread worthwhile enough to post some normal remarks, without crying about a repost.Get a life, and stop trying police a message board.

:goodposting: I agree. If it were a scenario where we had 25 Travis Henry threads it'd be one thing, but it's a Leftwich thread. Too much piss in the pool. If you have nothing to add, then post somewhere else.My guess would be Roddy White will still put up #'s. Any better ones? I don't see it. Harrington hasn't looked awful by any means, but Leftwich gives the downfield aspect Joey doesn't. At 1-5, 0-6, whatever they are now, why not?

So, the six humorous responses that state Mr. Leftwich will be sacked in every conceivable way on Sunday, the two wild stabs, and the one complaining about the "Forum Police" are normal? Wait...ok, maybe they are. Still Sweeney, mad as his is, did have the most insightful comment in this entire thread.

The reason I am not interested in seeing what other people have to say is, I've already seen it. In the other thread. Considering there has been almost zero useful posts on this thread, versus 2 pages of discussion on the other, I guess I have been put in my place. I type Leftwich in the seach function and I get a thread with 86 replies. How many of those are going to restate what's ALREADY BEEN DISCUSSED. Plus adding more threads pushes other, non repeat threads further down and off the front page. Do you really think that on Friday the topic of Leftwich's receivers hasn't already been discussed? And the funniest thing is your diatribe about policing the thread could be used almost verbatim against you for your post, especially the get a life part. If you don't like what I have to say, move on. If you want info on Lefty's WRs, use the search function. I know it can be tough typing in a whole word and finding the results you're looking for, but anyone with over a 3rd grade education can probably scrape by.If you don't spend time here all day then the chances are the topic you are investigating has already been covered and you will save time as well as learn more by the very simple process of typing a word and pressing 'enter'. Since the topic has already been covered, you are going to get nowhere near the same number of replies and discusiion because IT"S ALREADY THERE, ripe for the plucking. So take your hypocritical thread police insults, apply them to yourself and learn to use the board and when to keep your trap shut.

There's a 2 page Leftwich thread covering nearly every conceivable question about the switch. How much useful info has this one generated, other than your insightful comments on the state of the SP and your amazing analysis of the WR situation? I would qualify that as "not having anything to add" and that you should've/could've saved everyone some time by just not posting it at all.And the people who don't sit here all day ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION if they want to maximize their time here.

Long-term? Nobody benefits, because Leftwich isn't that good.

This week vs. New Orleans? If you're looking for some bye week replacements, you may be able to pick off a couple decent performances here. The Saints aren't exactly world beaters defensively.

I'm taking a shot on Crumpler as a bye week replacement for Gates. The other guy that has a chance is Roddy White.

Those are probably the only two, though.

EDIT: Actually, looks like Crumpler won't play...yeah...forget that

sweeny,

lighten up, huh? why not post a helpful link to the other thread on page 2? you could have done that in a fraction of the time you spent on your last post.

I'll lighten up when people don't butt in and tell me to stop policing the boards when that's what they're doing. And the link is posted in post #7 anyways. Besides if I post a link then they still wouldn't learn to use the search function. Which could have been done by the OP in a fraction of the time it took him to start up a new thread on a subject that's been covered. Have you happened to notice the lack of useful replies in this thread? Proves my point that since most have already chimed in on this that a new thread is going to garner only a fraction of the info from the other thread. Which is why using the search function before you post a thread is a very valuable tool.

My opponent this week, for I'm starting Roddy White.
I definitely see this as a negative for Roddy White. White had a thing with Harrington. Will he be the favored WR with Leftwich? Who knows? It could be one of the other guys. A change in QB can not be a good thing for a marginal WR1.

I love to hear him say "search function" over and over again. :hot:

Now he is acting like it was a public message, trying to help others to use the "search function" to maximize their own time spent here. When in reality, he was complaining like a scorned woman about this topic being discussed again.

Just let people discuss what they want to discuss. Maybe the person who started this thread simply wanted to start up this discussion himself? If you are that hell bent on "helping" the person. A simple reply to the extent of "I think that some of the posts in this thread may be of some help to you, good luck. (insert link)"

To answer the thread starter's question. I would think that Roddy White will get the most action with Leftwich at the reigns. Not only has Roddy already shown himself to be the #1 option in Atlanta, but he is also the teams deep threat. We all know that Leftwich loves to get the ball downfield, so I think that Roddy will be his go to guy.

Sorry I didn't do the work for him, but I did tell him that there was a thread already started and from that he could easily have found it himself, and judging by all the helpful inof in this thread I hope he did because, as I predicted, nothing useful has come from this rehashed thread. And it was for him alone until others started bagging on me for pointing out the obvious. Even though there was another post with a link before mine and there were no serious posts answering the OPs question, I get bagged on for policing threads. I'm pretty sure a scorned woman would have been a lot more venemous than I was, I don't really think that my statement was any worse than any of the smartass comments about defenses benefitting. But whatever. Jump on the bandwagon and bash me for showing people how to actually find the info they need. Because there is just oh so much good info here on this one. :goodposting:

Lefty has three offensive lineman with little to no NFL experience. Expect rookies Renardo Foster, Justin Blaylock and Tyson Clabo to struggle. Considering Lefty's penchant for a slow baseball like wind up before releasing the ball we are likely to see alot of sacks. The Jacksonville reject isn't very mobile or durable. Expect to see Harrington again who the team doesn't seem to want to play for even though he's playing some of the best football of his career.

I think R. White is demonstrating that he is the most talented WR and the only one capable of coming close to a #1 on the team. If Leftwich plays well and gets a good deep ball out there, White should benefit imo.

Harrington - as watching how bad Lefty is will only boost his confidence. And having a week off to rest, recuperate will be good for the mind and body.
Just bumping this for the fun of it, as Harrington is now back in as the starter. Leftwich just sucks.

As a Crump Daddy owner with limited options down the stretch, I would love to see Joey start looking for him more........................

He hasn't in his earlier starts, so I'm not sure what will change.Besides, Roddy has been playing generally well (despite a few drops), while Jenkins and Robinson are also decent (if not spectacular) options.
