With Ricky's suspension, does this mean... (1 Viewer)

We've been hearing for a while now that the Broncos would get either TO or Ricky, but not both.

With Ricky now done for the year, does that mean TO to the Broncos is all but a sure-thing?

I think TO could make a sneaky trade target right now in dynasty leagues. I think he walks into a good fantasy situation in Denver and if you can get him before he's actually there while weak passing teams like Miami and Atlanta are still on the radar scaring TO owners you might be able to get him a bit cheaper.

Thoughts?

I agree with your thinking. I believe he can be had a bit cheaper now than after he is signed by the Broncos. Signing with the Broncos is not a certainty by any stretch though. Still just in general, I think if you're going to target him, it's better to do it before he signs somewhere and the hype machine begins.

My hope is that Shananhan learns from this situation. Screwups don't change, even under continuous scrutiny. T.O. is no smarter than Ricky - stay far away!!

One has nothing to do with the other.

One costs a ton the other comes with a cheap salary.

This situation does not help TO at all, though I dont believe he really needs any help because his #s kindof speak for themselves as does his schtick, but the Ricky thing just shows old shoes laying around the shop dont just get up and wash themselves....they usually just stay dirty, stinky old shoes. TO's gonna end up with some team reaching for an answer....but that will end up with alot of questions.

TO is the most dominant player in the NFL when his head on straight. Whoever gets him will get much better, instantly. Sure, he's risky, but if WR is not a stacked position, and the team needs an offensive lift to get over the hump, he is worth the risk. He was worth it for the Eagles...until...

You may want to add: "In your opinion"

I sure hope that piece of crap ends up somewhere else. His talent level is indisputible, but so is his egomaniacal ability to completely dismantle a team. If the Donkeys & their vet players think they can keep him in check, they're out of their freakin' minds.

Good observation Bri. In fact if the Broncos seriously think it's a better situation to get TO now that Ricky has "missed" a drug test then I have to seriously question the integrity of their organization. I can understand taking a "risk" once in a while and striking gold. Like last year's rampage when they signed Dayne and all thos Brown losers and found some success. But TO's situation isn't like theirs. They were poor performers stuck in bad situations. TO is just a head case. We already know what he's capable of doing on the field and in the locker room. And clearly a change of scenaery does not help him. They would be complete fools to sign him. They are so close TO would set them bad years.

Well, if the Broncos have any humility to speak of, they should view this as a reality check if they in fact were close to obtaining a problem player. Everyone likes to think problem players will change for them, but here we have yet another example...
