Top 5 in three of the last six years

Top 6 in four of the last six years

Top 11 in five of the last six years

Had one injury plagued season that made him miss half the year

Who is it?????????

Assuming you mean FF points (vs yards rushing, or total yards) in a non PPR league ...

I would go with the others on Portis

Portis?

Portis was the first that came to mind for me as well.

I'm almost certain of it. I actually though "obviously that's Portis, that wasn't hard at all" so hopefully I'm not wrong here..

Wow. That's a great memory to know his exact finish the last 6 years.

As a Reds fan my whole life, I am probably one of the few people that appreciate the name Mario Soto, he was such an awesome pitcher, too bad the Reds sucked basically his entire career. He was like a poor mans Nolan Ryan, lose games 2-1 or 3-2 give up no earned runs and 3 hits and have 12 k's. Nice to see that name again :-)

Well, as a Journey fan, I appreciate the name Jeff Scott Soto.

Excuse me for answering the question that's been answered 10 times, yet the OP has ignored acknowledging the answer. The answer is Portis.

Sorry guys, I had an emergency I had to attend to last night.Clinton Portis is right.Looking at his #'s the since entering the league this guy really is a steal if you get him after about the #5 pick overall.

Before going any further in this post, I'm going to say Shaun Alexander.

Clinton Portis is right.Looking at his #'s the since entering the league this guy really is a steal if you get him after about the #5 pick overall.
Totally disagree. He'll get you 8-12 points every week but not more than that very often. Basically he doesn't single-handedly win or lose any games for you. I want more than that out of a mid-1st round pick.

Wrong, C Portis avge'd 13 points a week in a standard scoring league( no ppr) That was good for 5th, early drafts last year(july-mid aug) Portis was going 3rd round. This guy has been as consistent as LT. He'll go mid 1st and finish 3rd-8th in scoring. EXACTLY what you want from a mid first pick.

Yeah I sure hate consistency from my players. ;)

Not sure I'd want to project his receiving numbers to stay high with the switch from Joe Gibbs/Al Saunders to the Jim Zorn experiment.

FBGs scoring has him RB7 on ppg. It all comes down to preference. I want my 1st round pick to win me a few games by scoring 20 pts a few weeks in a row even if he follows it up with a 3 or 4 pointer.

Ok, so AD, LT, B Westbrook, maybe Addai, go off the board.

Which RB is next? Lynch, Maroney, Mcgahee, Lewis, R Brown, F Gore,

S Jackson, W Parker-??

I'm not asking who's drafted next- At this point you could make a case for a WR or QB

No one is gonna draft DMC that high.

R Grant, J Fargus, and E Graham are still half/one season wonders.

Now you're left with situation starters -Texans, Seahawks, Lions, Bears, Jets?, Raiders?

Whom ever wins that starting job could be a rb1.

Who's left- F Taylor, Edge, L White, D Williams. R Bush, T Jones, M Barber.

He had 14 points or more in 1/2 the Redskins games last year....good try.

15 12 14 0 8 7 16 5 25 14 3 8 11 8 18 20- Portis's weekly scoring.

1 point 10 yds rush/rec, 6 pts TD (no ppr)

My bad, its closer to averaging 12 points a week (12.2)

14 points or more in 7 games.

Or you could look at it another way.... only scored more than 15 pts in 4 games. 4 games total the entire season. Meh. Like I said, a lot of games of 8-12 pts.

Thanks!

4th amongst RBs won't win you games?

Just looking at year-end numbers like PPG can be misleading. Here are 3 guys who averaged less per game overall than Portis. But their overall PPG includes a few games early in the season with only a few carries. I would have rather had any of these 3 guys leading my team down the stretch than Portis.....

E.Graham got the starting job in week 3. For the rest of the year he averaged 13.8 per game and scored over 15 pts in 7 of 13 games.

R.Grant got the starting job in week 8. For the rest of the year he averaged 15.3 per game and scored over 15 pts in 5 of 10 games.

J.Fargas got the starting job in week 9. For the rest of the year he averaged 14.6 and scored over 15 pts in 4 of 7 games.

Synthesizer, where do you have Chad Johnson's value right now compared to his value 2 years ago? Answer this question in your head before you read the rest of my post please.

Done? Ok, good. Now consider this:

Chad Johnson's seasonal stats for the last 5 years are almost identical. His endseason point totals have been the following:

195

183

199

178

192

Now, in spite of this it would seem that Chad's value is quite a bit lower than what it was the last few years where he was pretty much the consensus #1 WR. Why? Because he went from a "consistent but doesn't blow up often" kind of guy to a "blows up occasionally but puts up stinkers in the meantime" guy.
