Woman Splits Man's Face To Skull, Walks Out Of Court Freely (1 Viewer)

That's pretty disgusting. Not sure how "unwelcome advances" is legal justification for physical retaliation, let alone clubbing someone over the head with a bottle.

Could be that we're not, but it wouldn't surprise me. Seems like there were many witnesses to the event, and that it's pretty sussed out. Bars and alcohol can get pretty ugly, and fights can ensue over the most benign stuff. I've seen women freak out and go after guys at bars for weirder, more benign reasons than even getting bumped into.

My guess is if he had swung the bottle he wouldn't have been let to walk free. That's ridiculous. She should do time. She showed herself to be a danger to society with her overreaction to being in a crowded bar.

He needs better friends. If that #### did that to my friend, I'm knocking that ##### out.
I'm guessing it's largely a combination of both biological impulse and social training that they didn't attack her. I wouldn't blame them. Certainly it is a surprise to see a bottle-weilding female, never mind a bottle-weilding anyone, especially given that they're in a social club or bar.

The story caught my eye because she did no time and laughed her way out of the courthouse after she picked up a bottle and smashed somebody over the head with it, slicing a face down to the skull. That's insane. That's not only not a good look to walk out of the courthouse smiling and laughing, it's fairly evil, and I think the judge really messed up here. Every time I'm willing to go off about overcharging or mandatory minimums for certain actions, I'm reminded of judges like these and incidents where one really has to wonder what the judge is doing.

I also wonder about the double standard. What if this were an aspiring female model that had been sliced and smashed to the skull? Would the sentence have been so lenient?
