Work Drama (1 Viewer)

So here I am in a thread having a discussion about home schooling(my opinion wasn't the favorite) and crap blew up. Guy comes in we haven't been to happy with and starts being an ### to the service manager over being parked where he likes to park. Of course we don't have assigned parking and we had people in this morning so spots were at a premium. Then he starts going on about some email where he was called out for not doing his job. Wanted the service manager to apologize. I saw the email there was nothing to apologize for. So Service manager fired him and it has been all drama since. I may be calling 911 before this is all over. I hate when works messes with my posting.

Somebody call 9-1-1! ####bag's going ape#### on the service manager... whoah-oh-oh!

Dude finally left. He is one of those guys that carry a gun everywhere and he was getting pretty over the top so that's why I was a bit concerned.

My guess is you are against home-schooling...
Pretty much especially as children get older and the subjects get more intense. I am a pretty smart guy. I would feel inadequate to the task of handling certain subjects with my kids once we hit high school level work. For example I especially struggle with high level math. I can do it but I am not skilled enough to teach it properly.

Yeah it's meh but I figured I'd share in case it was going to go bad.
I get the fear. I had to let a guy go who was a former medic in Vietnam who had a serious problem with authority and used to keep a (fake) human skull at his desk.

brohan sorry to hear it i hope that the rest of the day goes better and that you get paid today so that you can take that to the bank brohan

Do you have someone to clear your browser history in the event of an emergency? Something we should all think of.

Thanks. All is well. It was tougher on the two people I made handle it. One of them has never fired anyone and the other hasn't had a ton of experience. Plus this guy was belligerent and was one of those guys who kills workplace chemistry. In a small business that is really a huge negative. So he had to go. I hate to fire people but you got to do what you got to do.

Let's imagine it went bad. Just what would that entail?

TGIF...

Dude is the type that carries a gun everywhere. I was thinking worst case workplace shooting. Probably the service manager and I would be the first to be targeted. Given we are less than a mile from a major police presence response would have been quick I assume. I guess I would be hoping I could summon up one more escape from seemingly sure injury.

Nah I don't live my life afraid and the reality is most people carrying are lousy shots which is a big reason why they have no business carrying.

In fact we have decided that going forward this place of business just became a gun free zone and we are going to prohibit employees from carrying weapons when they are on our clock. I have nothing against guns per se but they don't belong at work unless you are a cop or armed security guard and then a lot of them seem like they shouldn't be given guns either.

Oh, man. According to the gun rights threads here, this is going to lead to a lot of deaths.

I know the gun fondlers won't like it but you know part of settling this country was to get away from every ####### having a gun. Towns were established so there could be law and order so that normal folks didn't have to carry guns everywhere. This backtracking over the last decade or so hasn't made this nation one bit safer overall.
