Working on my minor league keepers (1 Viewer)

Need to keep 3 of the 7.

14 team h2h POINTS league. Large keeper style so the draft is thin, but not totally horrible. Scoring system below if you care.

Alonso, Yonder 1B CIN

Francisco, Juan 3B CIN

Donald, Jason SS CLE

Frazier, Todd SS CIN

Gomez, Jeanmar SP CLE

Lofgren, Chuck SP MIL

Patton, Troy SP BAL

I traded away some of my other prospects over the past two years or called them up last year (making them now eligible under our +1 Rule, think Andrew McCutchen and Jake Fox who I will be keeping under that rule, and Tommy Hunter who I have to drop or trade since the limit is two). I used to be very strong in this area. I've graduated Braun, McCutchen, Cruz, and Ian Stewart through my system, traded Maybin at right time, among a few others. But I feel like this group is horrible. Only Alonso is a no brainer imo. Any other value here? Who would you keep?

CYC - Hitting for the Cycle 20 points

I agree you have Alonso but after that it's a dice roll. Lofgren was on my radar a couple years ago (in Cleveland?) but other than that I can't help much. :goodposting:

Yes, Cleveland. Looks like he might get a shot early this year in Milwaukee. To me, that means he's a great stash in my minors with potential to help later on in the season and maybe be a solid "+1" keeper for me next season.

Some people like Frazier better than Alonso, and have Francisco not too far back amongst Reds prospects. But we are talking a mixed league, so you don't want to dig down too far deep. The rest don't appear worth keeping. A number of the prospect rankers have yet to weigh in for 2010 on the Reds:

I have not dug too deep myself into the prospect rankings for the Spring because like you say they are just starting to filter out, so wanted to see what I could find here at "home". I heard some buzz about Francisco's bat last summer and decided to give him a spot in my minors. I actually drafted Frazier last year, along with Alonso.

harryhood, let's hijak my thread instead of PMs, I don't care, anything for a phish brotha...

The cheatsheet generator I've used the past two years is http://www.myofficepool.ca/mlb/

FBG poster "Mike" is the guy that basically runs the site I believe. The site has some good info and a spreadsheet sorta like the football cheatsheet here. It's rather dynamic between the tabs and works pretty good with all my keepers. It has some issues but I'll be using it again if he does it. I used to compile my own in Excel using projections from various sites and then try to "VBD" them up, but I'd rather put extra time into research than all the copy/paste/formula/etc work in a spreadsheet. Obviously I still check other projections and use my own logic because I don't always agree with every player, but it's a solid tool.

Here are two of the threads here on this...probably some good info:

:sadbanana: Thats sweet Bobcat, appreciate the hijack. That site looks very in depth, but chocked full of information.

Looks like I'm rolling with Alonso and Frazier as 2 of my 3 based on my preseason research.

I possibly could aquire one these guys for a late round pick. They've all been sorta thrown out there to me, it will come down to whether or not that team would rather try to redraft the players than move up a few rounds late in the draft. What order do you rank these guys, or not even think about?

Michael Saunders, OF SEA

Jhoulys Chacin, SP COL

Wilmer Flores, SS NYM

Dayan Viciedo, 3B CHW

Brad Lincoln, SP PIT

Mat Gamel, 3B MIL
