Worst Cuts this Season... so far (1 Viewer)

Currently in a non-ppr dynasty league and I had to choose between Larry Fitzgerald and Justin Forsett. After week 3 they were both doing OK but with Pierce coming back and the potential upside I thought Larry had, I cut Forsett. Since then he's scored over 10 pts in each of the last 3 weeks and he's one of the only backs to have over 6 pts in every game this year.

It's definitely the worst cut I've made so far this year.

I cut him at one point and luckily picked him right back up. Starting him weekly now :)

Potentially 'worst' cut for me was Tom Brady after he started the season scoring so poorly. He was my backup to Aaron Rodgers though so I'm not too worried.

I cut Forsett as well. Have been trying to replace him by picking up and dropping dud RBs ever since.

Due to short benches, cut both Kelce & Reed in one league (now starting D Allen :/)

In my other league, cut Sanu early. Regretting that now.

My buddy picked up Oliver a week early and cut him prior to him breaking out, he's killing himself while Im rolling out oliver weekly now!

Someone cut Hilton, Sproles and Patterson in my biggest league to date. He is not a bad owner, although he sure does look like one this year with those decisions.

Someone in my league cut Larry Fitz and we thought he was nuts, now not so sure.

My worst timed drop of the season was last week. I dropped Flacco to play Eli. Instead of 30+ pts I got 6...

Not so much worst cuts as worst trades - I have traded for Justin Hunter, Riley Cooper, Joique Bell and Ahmad Bradshaw - the only one that has performed is Bradshaw. To get those guys I have given up - Darren Sproles, Fred Jackson, Travis Kelce and Hurns. I have since cut Hunter and Cooper. Terrible roster management for me this year.

Have been on the brink of cutting Brady, Hilton and Vereen at points this year but held onto them. Two I regret are Terence Williams, cut him way too quickly. I also cut Sanu without even using him which was a mistake.

Shane Vereen for me after week 4. It's non-ppr so I don't feel terrible about it, unless he keeps blowing up like last night.

Had Oliver early in a few deep leagues (to back up Matthews). Had some wr issues and byes started so I cut him... One week too soon.

Also cut Ty Hilton in a very very shallow league. Same with Lamar miller.

I cut Oliver from a deep dynasty filled with waiver wire dreck a few weeks ago.

The guy who picked him up is trying to sell him for a 2015 first round pick but still no takers.

Cut Jordan Reed a few weeks ago just because I was frustrated and had too many other guys I was stashing. Meanwhile, he came back last week and I couldve used him as my starting TE is Graham who had a bye week and will probably miss this week. It gets better. Someone picked him up the day after I dropped him and I play that team this week.

Trying decide between Oliver and Reeves week 4. Cut Oliver for Reeves thinking he would be the better play for a RB hungry team.

I got off the wire this year, TY Hilton and Jordan Cameron. remains to be seen if Cameron will be a stud again but Hilton is the #1 option in a pretty throw happy and powerful offense.

Also just grabbed Cecil Shorts who has a pretty good upside. I haven't regretted dropping anyone yet but I did just drop DMC and Welker in the last week.

Someone cut Kaepernick for some reason before he went off last week, for Austin Davis. I picked him up just in time for Nick Foles bye this week. Lucky me.

I picked up Asiata and McKinnon moments after the first of the Adrian Peterson news, and held both for weeks, until I cut McKinnon right before his big game. Can't win them all.

I keep cutting Crowell and picking him back up (three times so far.). Fortunately, no one else in my league reads these forums, which flow with oceans of kool aid about the guy.

Sanu is my biggest regret. Cut him for Floyd in week four when he was on a bye. Figured Jones would be back and didn't count on Green missing time.

I've cut Rueben Randle, Pierre Thomas, Kendall Wright and Forsett. I too picked up Forsett and dropped him thinking I would have better luck with Taliaferro. I had Lorenzo, Crowell, and McKinnon at one point. I only held onto McKinnon.

On a side note, I think those of us with Josh Gordon eating up our bench have had to make some unlucky cuts. If Gordon wasn't taking up that roster spot I could be much more patient with the wait & see guys. Instead I am using the extra spots for win now and bye week/injury fill in players.

For perspective, the players that I currently roster off of the wire: Larry Donnell, Branden Oliver, Brian Quick, Jerick McKinnon, and Knile Davis (I own Charles and another owner cut before the injury).

The obligatory guy I hold onto (this happens every year it seems), because I think I know something no one else does: Greg Jennings.

I cut HArvin and Sproles this week. I really struggled with the Harvin drop and am 99% sure it will come back to haunt me.

Came in to post that my worst cut was Ahmad Bradshaw for Josh Gordon, before the season started though. Thought he was a good pick very late with T-Rich playing like a bum, but certainly didn't think he would produce the way he has so far.

I cut Harvin this week and I feel great about it. It's a message to the rest of my team. You put up 0 points, you're getting cut.

They may finally learn how to use him correctly but I feel like even if he does have some big games he will still be very inconsistent bc of how the Seahawks play.

Yep. That is what I keep telling myself too. It isn't making me feel any better about it. Only time will tell. I picked up Shorts when I dropped him so at least for the 3 games that Shorts is healthy I know I have a guy in him that will get targets.

I know it is cuts so far this year... But I am still living with the regret of dropping Julius Thomas LAST year hours before the week 1 matchup to pick up a kicker. Kept Cameron.

No one even picked up Harvin in the league I dropped him, though it is a 10-teamer.

Man, Andre Johnson, Keenan Allen, and Percy looked like a pretty decent WR corps before the season started....

If players are not performing, unless they are the elites of elites, I will consider cutting them. You put up low points, you cant help me so I have to consider their worth. I have never seen anyone win a game because they started a name. Harvin has had 4 TDs called back this year. That stuff is flukey so the opportunity is there. Hilton is getting 10 targets a game from the leagues hottest QB and had TDs called back and stop short a number of times, his TDs and big games will come as we have seen last week. Its more than just stats at times though, this is stuff to take notice if a player is getting the opportunities or not.

Harvin may not have a lot of points, but his upside is better than a lot of the players in the league and he is such a electric player. Is only week 7, these teams have 10 weeks left, cream rises to the top as the season goes on.

Its only week 7 still can work out.

In my second league that I don't concentrate on so much, I dropped Lamar Miller the week he was apparently in a walking boot. You can only start two RBs in this league and I had some roster issues going on at the time, but even still.... Madness. This week just gone I had Foster in the RB1 spot and grabbed Storm Johnson at the last minute to throw in at RB2 which shows just how stupid the cut was cause I ain't got anything going on at RB beyond Foster.

Main league I feel great about having cut Patterson and Spiller recently. Rounds 3 and 4 picks ='d complete busts, but we move on and constantly re-evaluate and I have picked up other good players from the WW this season such as Bradshaw and Tate.

That really takes some balls. Just seems like a lot of bad breaks for him. I'm a little more inclined to hold him because I have Wilson and Lynch. Seattle seems like one of the better offenses so I'm feel like he'll get his share of the pie as their WR1.

In dynasty the "I should have cut"s are always worse when you see you only have Oliver in less than half your leagues just cause you had to hold onto some random 4th rounder who won't see the field.

Cut Forsett for Marvin Jones after week 3. Deep at RB and needed help at WR, and thought Forsett was going to top out as a high-floor low-ceiling flex.

I have been considering dropping Welker this week. Seems like that would come back to haunt me later. Seems like eventually he and Manning will start clicking.

I would recommend picking up DMC now if you are deep at RB and can take chances or need some immediate RB help due to injuries/bye weeks. DMC should put up decent numbers for a few weeks until he is injured.

Cut Sanu in a few places prior to their bye week on the assumption Marvin was due back soon.

But the player that has jacked me up the most in terms of FA/cuts this season has been Tim Wright. I'm mainly in TE premium leagues and spent a good chunk on him in the first waiver period of the year and drafted him in some places he was available. Then cut him a few weeks later. After his big game a few weeks ago I went back and again spent a chunk on him. A lot of miss with this guy.

In ppr redraft someone cut T.Y. Hilton week 4 and I nabbed him in blind bid auction on waivers for $0. He actually went unclaimed for 2 days! He was a 5th round pick. The owner who cut him must have had bad Intel on that ankle injury.

I was stuck between cutting Tate or Mathews in a pretty shallow league...both were injured...but Donald Brown was running into the line of scrimmage and West/Crowell/Tate had every bit the look of a timeshare. Cut Tate..Mathews still isn't running while Tate is running all over defenses.

I did likewise.

Cut Sanu for Andre Holmes, and then make the ####-up even worse by dropping Holmes for "Quiet" Storm Johnson.

I cut Holmes for an IDP because it was unclear if Chancellor was going to play. Turns out I didn't even need to do that (and even if Kam wasn't going to play, I should've just taken the hit). The worst part was that I had smartly picked up Holmes for free. Now I had to pay to get him back, and sure enough, someone spent their entire FAAB to scoop him up (EDIT: It's a 20-team league, so huge bids aren't unheard of).
