This is an overall poll, players, coaches, owners. Basically what team is the most pathetic?

I have it as a 2 team race with the Raiders narrowly edging out the Packers for most pathetic team. I would go with the Titans 3rd. Personally I don't have the 49ers or Bills as #4 but figured some would pick them so they're included.

This is for this year, but also thinking about what team will have the hardest time rebuilding too, I think the Packers/Raiders made awful coaching selections and both have horrific O-lines so I'm thinking it will take along time to rebuild these two teams, and Oakland has nothing in the QB dept either (Not a Walters believer).

What is it, team or franchise?

There is a difference IMO.

Oakland, hands down at this point. That game Monday night was the absolute worst performance I've seen in a long time. Shell looked lost and Brooks was a terrible signing for them. Good teams find personell to fit their scheme (i.e. Pats & Steelers). The Raiders seem to just pick up guys who have talent and have had success in the past (hence all of the old guys the last few years), and then try to come up with a scheme using them. The biggest problem has been the coaching carousel that Al Davis has employed as it is hard to find consistancy when you have to learn a new system every couple of years.

Got to be Raiders. Al Davis is completely senile now as an owner. Coming off lsat seasons blunder of Norv Turner hiring (that was a blunder identified upfront by most), now he brought. Throw in QB situation, Moss's usual baggage, O-line and we can't forget the vodka saturated kicker and I think its a clean sweep.

Worse franchise is the Lions, no super bowls, one playoff win, Matt Millen. The franchise's incompentence forced Barry Sanders into retirmement.

Of course, this year it looks like Oakland. But In the long term view of a franchise? Cleveland. Year in and Year out they stink. They're a joke.

the Raiders have 3 SB wins and were in it just a few years ago. The Browns have never been to the superbowl, even to lose it. They have all those old "NFL championships". Great. I'm sure your grandpas all enjoyed those games quite a bit. As it stands, the Clowns haven't won squat in 40+ years now.

49ers? Really?

5 Championships

Most 10 win Seasons in the last 25 years

I guess their recent history puts them on the list and maybe I'm a homer; but they are on the right track compared to all the other franchises on the list.

I voted Raiders.......No direction home.....

Do some of you guys read? He asked this year, right now, I believe.Anyways, I expect nothing less from a Steeler fan. Where are your buddies? Oh wait, they might not agree with you here. The denial of football before the Super Bowl is pretty lame. But if you had all those championships, you'd be calling for "one for the big toe" these days. Losers.

Do the Raiders really have less talent right now than the Packers? I see the Packers having a tough time turning things around once Favre and Green are gone, and they have been declining for years.

The Raiders MGT does knock them down to second last in my book though.

The Raiders signed Jeff George. Nuff said. :lmao:

Denying four decades of futility is nothing to be proud of either. When none of the active players in the entire league were alive the last time your team won a chamionship, you might concede the franchise is open for criticism. But it's not just championships. The Browns have won 6 playoff games in their past 37 seasons. That's one more than the Bengals, Ravens, and Seahawks. That's two more than the Jaguars (now in their 12th season).Oh, you've got the Lions, Cardinals, and Saints beaten (1 each) along with the Texans (none), but I wouldn't really hang my hat on that.

You obviously don't understand the poll, if i was talking about the past, how the hell could i have included the 49ers in this poll. I'm talking about now and in the future, this poll has ZERO to do with ancient history. How could you even think i meant the past, 49ers on the list, Bucs not on the list, that's a ridiculous assumption on your part. I believe I even said "This poll is about this year and the future". Good to notice you got a ton of :goodposting: in regards to your post. Do you guys all ride on the same :11:

Good for you if you believe this. However, given the cyclical nature of the NFL, the idea that the past has "ZERO" to do with the current state of these teams is a flawed concept. The 49ers collapsed in large part due to pushing against the cap for multiple seasons. Most if not all of the others listed in the poll also have enjoyed significant recent success, but the salary cap and consistent late draft spots eventually take their toll. I for one take into account the circumstances in which these teams became bad when evaluating the franchise. Using "franchise" in your poll is probably what triggered ACP's post in the first place.

How about "win one our fans can see on TV in color" for the Browns slogan?

You're likely correct, I did misuse the term "franchise". Too bad the children are already out of school to exploit the misuse of a word when they know exactly what was being asked.

Even a 5 or 7 year downswing / rebuilding of a great franchises link the Raiders/49rs/Packers are still DWARFED in comparison to the crap that's been dished out of cities like Cleveland and Detroit for decades now. If you want to say which team is going to be rebuilding the longest or has the worst ownership, that's fine. But franchise implies history, and franchises like the 49ers and the Packers are not "pathetic', even with a current rebuilding phase.

And, cripes, bobcat - 6 posts in a row? I'd suggest doubling that ritalin you're taking, GB.

edit typo

Worst franchises in my opinion = Saints, Bucs, Cardinals

To a lesser extent = Bengals, Lions

Happy now? None are on the list, I misused the word franchise, Shoot me.
