Would any of these Democrats have a chance at the nomination for Presidential candidate? (1 Viewer)

Geez! Why would the Democrats support two Democrat senators who are consistently opposed to advancing the Democratic agenda like Manchin and Sinema for the party's nomination? Seriously it makes no sense at all...none.
squistion I'm not talking about who Democrats would support. I'm talking about a Democrat a non Democrat like myself could support.

If that is the case, then it wasn't clear in your OP, as you didn't ask if any had a chance at the nomination that non-Democrats would support.

Perhaps you should correct the OP and thread title to avoid any further confusion.
OR....you can see the obvious context of a conservative asking about democrats that he could likely vote for. Im not sure there was a single other person who was confused by his ask.

You have shown nothing but contempt for my posts for as long as I can remember. I asked you to stop quoting me and that worked for a while, but here we are again. :coffee:
I meet people where they're at...always have, always will. Sorry that doesn't suit you. Want better posts from me, elevate your game.

Also to be clear if it was between Biden and Trump. I'd vote Trump lesser of two evils and all. Biden is the most divisive president in my lifetime.
Im sorry, this is just hard to really grasp. Id put way ahead of Biden as far as division. And he isn't close to the next guy.
Id say Biden is the lesser of two evils. Trump is everything bad that Biden is...with the added divisiveness, added thinking he is above the law...just flat out dangerous.
Sho I know your basically a good guy. How can you not be you like to fish. However IMO you are wrong about who is the most divisive. I know you guys all said Biden didn't mean me when he Characterized half the country as fascists and terrorists. That's how I took it and so did many others. As a vet that was the biggest insult he could throw my way. Maybe he should have thought how some might take his speech. So yea I'd say he is the most divisive President in my lifetime.
Again...he didn't claim half the country was either. He seemed clear in that he did not mean all republicans. That you took it that way seems to be letting your own bias play into that.
Should he be better about it? Sure. However, I think he is playing on division that is already there (between left and right, and now yes, trying to divide MAGA from the rest of the party). I think his analysis of that is spot on. MAGA is awful...Conservativism is not.
I think you ignore a lot of what Trump has done to make that division, to sew it, to thrive off of it. Telling people every day that the left is coming for their way of life (and yes, there are plenty on the left making the same claims).

I think its clear Trump did more to divide us in that way...and make the divide ugly and mean vs just disagreeing philosophically.

It probably would have been better if he just went old school and called them deplorables or bitter clingers.
Sure...Hillary screwed the pooch when she assigned her own number to half of republicans...though, she too listed out who she was talking about. It was always strange to see people proud to be deplorable given who she said was. They were admitting to being "racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic". (again, in quotes are her exact words on who she was talking about). She too admitted regret for saying half.

It is a very specific statement about a large group of people...I'm sure she had data to back up those numbers and it just wasn't a generic attack.

Did he characterize half the country as fascists and terrorists? He said multiple times he's not referring to all republicans, only the extreme MAGA republicans. It seems like you're just looking for a reason to be outraged. You want divisive? Read a transcript of Trump's state of union addresses, he trashes democrats in every one and doesn't even try to appeal
Nope not looking for a reason I have a reason. He keeps using the same rhetoric. He has tried to change what the meaning of the slogan meant in the first place. From what I have read in this forum he has succeeded. It's Maga this and Maga that. Maga does not = Nazi or violent extremist. Though some people seem to believe that.

IMO he is divisive . Others don't have to believe that. I believe in freedom of ideas which also includes opinions.

I'm really more interested in some new ideas on individuals I could get behind in the next election cycles. Not the same old blowhards in both parties which definitely includes Biden.

I made that attempt after you started responding to my posts in an insulting manner. On several occasions when I tried to engage you in a serious discussion your stock response was a laughing emoji or to mock me and you have continued to do so, despite my repeated requests asking you to refrain. That is not the way to get anyone to elevate their game and goes against the intent and spirit of this forum.

yeah, I know....always someone else's fault...i get it

Other than giving Ukraine 80 billion, multiple weapons systems and sabotaging Nord Stream 1 & 2, I haven’t a clue.
Conflict began in 2014--we started providing aid then. Foreign aid is approved by congress. Military/security aid to Ukraine has had bipartisan support through 3 administrations. This latest aid package ($40 billion, not 80) was also passed with bipartisan support.

Thanks Obama

Not Republican ideas. Moderate ideas. Most importantly non intervention ideas. I'm sick and tired of our kids being killed in conflicts we have no business in.
Would a noninterventionist be a moderate though? I'd think that anyone who would fit this would be on the extreme side, especially for democrats.

As much as I hate to say this, if this near the top of your list then Trump actually seemed to have a good record here. Carter'esce (and this is not meant to be an insult.)

none taken.

I'm looking for a Dem candidate I could support in case Trump is the Republican nominee. Yes I did vote for Trump twice.

The thing is along with the economy, inflation and crime, divisiveness in the country is a big issue for me.

I also would say that even though she is a useful idiot and a Russian asset Tulsi would get my vote over Trump. Also as much as I like DeSantis she would also get my vote over him.

I just believe she would fight the MIC ( That Eisenhower warned us against )and keep us out of foreign conflicts. Maybe she could add a few more years to the 15 that we haven't been in a conflict somewhere in the world our whole history . This is just as important to me as just about anything else.

Yes I'm an isolationist bring our troops home from everywhere. No one will convince me otherwise.

You could have the Pope run as a Republican Presidential nominee and the other side would be divisive. Biden tried to do the "uniter" thing and less than 2 years into his administration said "F it", my party is losing ground let's just run on a platform that will attack the other side. So now you have MAGA this and MAGA that and ULTRA MAGA rhetoric.
2 things:

Biden is a terrible president
MAGA is a cancer

He's right about that growth attached to your party. It's on reasonable people like you two to act against them. As long as enough people with politics that align with you enable them our paralysis continues. Isn't anything the rest of us can do about it so long as a democracy remains a priority.

I'm a registered Democrat. Agree with you, Biden is a terrible president. He was a terrible Senator as well.
