Would Jesus Christ still rock the beard, long hair? (1 Viewer)

If Jesus were alive today (same guy, same attitude, same beliefs), but he wanted to sport a more contemporary look, what look do you think Jesus would role with?

Serious answers only please.

The idea of Jesus with long hair came from the mistaken belief at some point in recent history that he was a Nazarite (a person like Samson who did not cut their hair as a vow to God). However, Jesus was a Nazarene (as in a man from Nazareth), not a Nazarite.

The beard was a traditional thing for Jewish men in Jesus' time.

Not sure, but he'd be a lot more Jewish than we like to make him out to be

He'd be a lot less white The consensus is Jews from Judea were Levantine Middle Easterners in the First Century. So dark hair, dark eyes and darker skin than the usual portrayal. There is very little to almost no chance he had light hair, light eyes and light skin. He would have stood out so much it would have had to been part of the Gospels. Remember he had to be pointed out for arrest because the guards couldn't tell him from the Apostles. The Jesus I grew up with would have stood out.

I hate it when I do that.

Naw you're good. I was just making a jewjoke™, envisioning Jesus as Woody Allen or something.

He'd probably look more Muslim than anything. Especially to Christians.

Pretty sure he would have had a hard time getting on an airplane.

Would probably think he had ebola. You know, with the bleeding hands and all.
