Would this change the way you draft? (1 Viewer)

I was looking at the final stats for my main league and was shocked to realize that 9 of the top 10 points scorers were QB's. The only one that wasn't a QB was R. Moss. Of the first 30 on the list only 15 were RB's, so QB's and WR's score way more points than RB's. Would this totally change the way you draft? I've always taken a RB in the first round but I'm wondering if this is really the way to go in this league?

that's not how it works --- depending on your league....

it's about scarcity.

if you could play any offensive player in each slot, then you might want to stock up on qb's, but standard play is one starter for 10-12 guys, where you might be starting 2-3 rb's.

so, you mentioned NINE of the top 10 were qb's, meaning even that 9th qb is a top ten scorer, while only 15 of 30 were rb's and each guy probably wants 2-4 of those 15.

of course, it all depends on your league set up, but I'm just talking about the more common 'standard' league.

also, that's just a generality by position -- I'm not saying taking a single exceptional player at qb (like brady last year) can't help you, but generally you can get similar production from a later round guy.

that's the theory, anyway -- it really just comes down to who you draft.

The article is very intersting about VBD, I'm going to see what it does for the players in my league and their scores. My league has alot of bonus scoring. When looking back, I had 3 of the top 15 scorers in the league, I should have been dominating the league and I did lose the superbowl but I struggled all year to get wins. I started the year 2-5 and barely made the playoffs.
