Would You Be OK With LT & Gates On Your Team? (1 Viewer)

I draft in the #3 slot this year-

LT could easily be my RB in the first round. Looking at mock drafts it's also

evident that Gates will be available (and the best value) in the early 3rd round.

I get nervous about have more than 1 player from the same team, however

I'm sure if I looked it up we would see that these two probably scored at

least 65%-70% of San Diegos TD's last year.

I've had them both in two leagues for two years. It's freaking great. As long as you believe Rivers can move the offence like Brees did (no sure thing), then you're all set. These two guys get the TDs -- the occasional McCardell fade aside. I can't think of a combo I'd rather have.Look at it this way: there will be games when the Chargers offense is rolling but LT doesn't get the TDs because they go to Gates. Do you want to be one of the LT owners who takes the loss that week, or the guy who shrugs it off because you still wound up with the points?

I have both and I'm not worried. It's better to have them on your roster then have to face them on another team. It'll help you sleep better at night. :D

pick 3 last night and took them both. They are the best at rb and te in a point per catch league.only bad thing is you got to watch alot of chargers games.lol.

i would be fine with that. if you project that each guy will be at or near the top of his position, then the fact that they play for the same team shouldn't stop you from taking them. it wouldn't stop me, anyway.

Don't forget that two or three times a year, LT will get the ball at the goal line and look to pass. How does two TDs on one play sound?

Get the best players available - if they happen to be on the same team than so be it.I won my division last year with both of them but since traded Gates

It really doesn't matter. If they are projected by you to be a top three RB and a top TE you should be able to win most weeks if the rest of your roster is good. Now in my case I predicted Ronnie Brown to get about 10 more total points over the course of the season than Rueben Droughns with my scoring system. I had the 4th pick in a team 10 team first round selected Portis and to my surprise Brown was still there in round two. They both have bye weeks on week 8 so I ended up selecting Droughns tough call hopefully it pays off for me. My League is 1QB 2RB's 3WR's 1 Flex (WR/RB) 1 TE 1K 1DEF. With the 3WR's and flex you really have to watch your bye weeks. The point of my rambling is same position picks with the same bye weeks is worse than different position picks with the same bye weeks unless you have top 5 stud potential with both studs being RB's and are willing to take a loss during the bye week.

I'd be more than OK - I'd be thrilled. I wouldn't worry about the one bye week, as I'd be stoked during the other 16 weeks.

#1) You play with idiots if Ronnie Brown was available in round 2#2) You are high for picking Reuben Droughns over Ronnie Brown #3) Maybe I'm the idiot or I'm high, but I can't figure any scoring system that has Droughns and Brown that close.#4) In regards to the original poster, I drafted in the 5 slot and got Gates in the 3rd. The guy in the 3 hole put LT on the trading block. I am hoping to make a blockbuster deal that will leave me with LT and Gates. So, yes I'd love to have both of these guys.edit to add: I was gonna keep my homerism comments out of this discussion but I see ralph is a CU fan. If you're a Broncos fan too then realize that SD plays Den in week 14. Might be hard to root for LT and Gates to do well against the Broncos during the first week of the fantasy playoffs.
