Would you Take Dion Lewis for Luck? (1 Viewer)

My main concern is I have Carr with Denver, bye & Houston coming up.

Pretty standard $$ league. Usual redraft 1QB/2RB/2WR/1FLX/1TE, 0.5 PPR. Good owner I'm thinking of trading with has:

Mariota & Luck. He's been starting MM.

He's 3-5. Also he has Gurley & Gore as starters, but then it's Ivory and nothing else. Gore has a bye week 10, so he will need a legit RB. And if he starts MM which it looks like he will he won't have Luck for 2 weeks as he is on bye week 10 also.

I've got Booker and Chark West plus Ware and Bibbs.

At WR he has Julio. His flex gets a little week after that with Diggs, Tyrell Williams and Marv Jones, plus Parker, Britt and Tate.

If you're him do you take a trade offer of Lewis for Luck?

Does this pass muster or does he think this is horrible?

Most people would think this trade was horrible, but it would be worth considering if I was him.  A lot depends on how Lewis turns out - if he ends up being a top 10 (or even top 15) RB ROS (which he was top 5 in PPR last year before he got hurt), then this trade would be a steal for him.  Or Lewis could be the next Jamaal Charles and be worthless, or just fall into the usual pattern of being a maddening Patriots running back.  So there is a lot of risk here.

A few years back I made a trade of Danny Woodhead and Jay Cutler for Aaron Rodgers.  It is still viewed by all my league mates as the worst trade ever.  However, it was more than fair for the Rodgers owner.  We were PPR, and at the time Woodhead was RB14 - and in our draft that year, the fourteenth RB off the board was pick 20, or about what a QB was worth.  This other owner had only two RB's on his roster at the time, and both stunk, so he was absolutely needing an upgrade there.  He also had Rivers who was doing awesome at the time (I actually offered the same deal for Rivers, but he turned that down and accepted the deal for Rodgers instead).

If he's like most people and over values QB's, he will think the offer is terrible.  And there is definitely risk for him in making the deal from the Lewis side.  If I were him and valuing people fairly, I think I would still reject the offer, mainly because of the risk with Lewis.  So you'd have to sweeten it a little to get me to take it.  But I would think about it if I were him.
