WR Amari Cooper, BUF (2 Viewers)

.5 ppr in what is essentially a playoff game for me (must-win to make the playoffs). Wanted to go Cooper but can't take the risk and am going Thielen and Zay Jones over him.

I'm not sure. It doesn't really sound like he's going to be good to go. He may play but it's sounding like there's a problem. I'm not expecting a good output. I don't need the game though, so I'll still have him in my lineup as my only other option is Jameson Williams.
Should have went Jamo

Amari Cooper (hip) practiced on Thursday.

Cooper missed Wednesday's practice due to a hip injury and a rest day per the injury report, but was back on the field in some capacity on Thursday. Head coach Kevin Stefanski noted that Cooper looked good in Thursday's practice and said he's fighting through the injury he's dealing with. It doesn't sound like Cooper is at risk to miss Saturday's game against the Ravens, but he's managed just six catches for 82 yards in the first two games with Deshaun Watson under center.

Browns WR Amari Cooper (hip) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 15 vs the Ravens.

Cooper has been playing through a core injury the last few weeks and will continue to play in Week 15. With David Bell (toe, thumb) questionable, Cooper is in line for a higher target share this week. Cooper has managed just six catches for 82 yards in his first two games with Deshaun Watson.

3 weeks of single digits with Watson at QB. Add in the hip is not 100% and now Saturday forecast for Cleveland is -12° wind chill with 30mph winds and gusts up to 60mph. I know we've been trying not to get too overreactive to weather but that level of wind scares me.

Might need to bench him.

Amari Cooper said he had core muscle surgery.

Cooper told reporters he "feels good" after undergoing the procedure on an injury he struggled with throughout much of the 2022 season. Cooper finished the year with his highest receiving yardage total (1,160) since 2019. His production fell off with Deshaun Watson under center for the Browns after sustained success with Jacoby Brissett in the season's first few months. Cooper, 28, profiles as a decent WR2 in 2023 fantasy leagues with the assumption that Cleveland's offense will better fit Watson's strengths after his immense struggles in 2022.

Browns WR Amari Cooper left practice on Sunday with a “minor tweak” and is considered day-to-day.

General Manager Andrew Berry would not specify which body part was affected by the tweak but did say that it was not associated with Cooper’s offseason core muscle surgery. Cooper will have significant time to heal up and get back on the practice field considering Sunday marks day two of Cleveland’s preseason camp.

With Cooper playing on Monday night, I am debating whether I should take a chance and keep him in my lineup, and replace him with Jalen Warren if I had to, or to just simply play Treylon Burkes with Hopkins questionable.

i assume non of you watched the game, but i wonder if this injury has something to do with the "injury" he had early in the game last week, where we stayed down a bit and got helped off... it was definitely leg/groin related... he played the rest of the game and got open more than a few times too...

im willing to bet it was that play. but he played 3 quarters after, almost every snap. keeping him in til last minute and subbing w njoku or ARob come gametime, if out

Browns beat writer Brad Stainbrook reports Amari Cooper (groin) “will give it a go in warmups” ahead of the Browns’ Week 2 matchup against the Steelers.

Interestingly, ESPN’s Joe Buck also said on the Pat McAfee Show that the feeling he got from Browns HC Kevin Stefanski was that Cooper could have a chance to play this week. We’ll see what happens later in the day, but Cooper was considered “unlikely” just 24 hours ago. Fantasy managers holding out hope for Cooper should have a contingency plan in place in the event he sits. Even if he does suit up, it wouldn’t be surprising to see his snaps limited.

Shefter just gave the word, not expected to play tomorrow.
Rare miss by Shefter, he's playing.
He's going to be active. Could still be a dice roll.
For sure, and a less then 100% Amari has not had a great history.
Hasn't he? I feel like at least 60% of his career we've seen a less than 100% Amari.
He hasn't exactly been Mr Toughness when he's been in these situations historically.

No, it's usually why he takes major fades late every season.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Sat in my lineup all weekend when I was incredibly busy, missed all the chatter and he brought home the dub for me tonight

Silver lining if Cooper can stay healthy is that Watson will probably have to lean on him even more in what will probably be a more pass-heavy game philosophy.

Amari Cooper (groin/shoulder) did not practice Wednesday.
Cooper played through the groin injury in Week 2, but the shoulder injury is a new addition to his status. Still, he played without any limitations on Monday against the Steelers, so Cooper, who is no stranger to missing practice, should be able to suit up on Sunday. If he is able to return to practice by Friday, Cooper will sit on the WR2/3 border for his Week 3 matchup with the Titans. Cornerback Greg Newsome and defensive end Za’Darius Smith were also held out of practice.

Amari Cooper (groin/shoulder) was limited in Thursday’s practice.

Cooper missed Wednesday’s practice but was back and ready to go on Thursday. The Browns’ No. 1 receiver surprised everyone on Monday night after he suited up despite previous reports that he would be out, and turned in a 90 yard outing on seven receptions against the Steelers. With one day of practice left to go, there’s a good chance Cooper will suit up in Week 3 against the Titans. He can be treated as a fringe WR2/WR3 in that matchup.

Amari Cooper (groin/shoulder) was removed from the Browns’ injury report and will play in Week 3 against the Titans.

Cooper was sidelined to start the week but logged limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. He surprisingly started on Monday night in Week 2 after earlier reports suggested he would be inactive and turned in a solid 7/90 outing and appears ready to go again this week. The Browns No. 1 receiver will be a fringe WR2 against a Titans secondary that has allowed the fifth-most passing yards through the first two games of the season.

Amari Cooper caught 7-of-8 targets for 116 yards and a touchdown in the Browns’ Week 3 win over the Titans.

Cooper has now caught at least seven balls for 90 yards in back-to-back contests. Cooper’s first touchdown of the season was a 43-yard coverage bust in the fourth quarter where the Titans declined to cover him. Cooper has been lucky to stuff the box score to the degree he has the past two weeks with Deshaun Watson putting some truly putrid play on film, but the Browns’ offense finally started to look better in the second half this afternoon. Cooper was also hugely unlucky today when the referee inexplicably ruled he had stepped out of bounds on what should have been a 65-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Since the play was blown dead, it was non-reviewable. The Ravens are another tough matchup in Week 4 before Cleveland heads on bye before returning vs. San Francisco.

I think this is notable because if DeShaun Watson plays like he did today for the forseeable future, the Browns passcatchers are going to have some spike weeks in the future. And he was absolutely robbed of a TD.

Wish I hadn’t read that last sentence - had no idea with him in my lineup.
