WR Amari Cooper, BUF (1 Viewer)

Its him Aiyuk, Pickens or Juju.
Thinking Im rolling Coop out there
No adjustment period needed?

I think this is similar to the Davante Adams situation. Adams in a better position with previous history in the system and w/ QB but both these guys are veteran NFL stud WRs. Where their value has immediate impact IMO is in the red zone. Would not surprise me at all to see both get end zone targets and convert into TDs this weekend. The full playbook and higher number of reps grows in the following weeks but have to believe that 10-20 red zone plays are the first priority this week leading up to Sunday.

IIRC Cooper scored a red zone TD his first game in DAL the same week he was traded.
I wouldn't bet the farm on it, but knock yourself out.

Not betting the farm, but Cooper with partial knowledge of the BUF playbook is still head and shoulders above their next best WR. Josh Allen is a good candidate to throw multiple TD passes... who catches them? KIncaid - high probability for one. Then???

I dont know how long it typically takes for a WR to learn a playbook, but I could see not having full knowledge of it being a liability enough not to involve him a lot his first week in town.

Shakir and Kincaid might be the ones to benefit week one.

Defences didnt need to respect the outside or deep ball, now they will which opens them up.

Cooper could be running a bunch of clear outs this week since he needs to learn the playbook. Maybe he can get a couple long ball shots.

As an owner in one league I could not be more excited for him. Best qb of his career and he has to feel revived getting traded to contender.

Allen rushing scores :)

Well, that's a given. That's in addition to his TD passes.

@32BeatWriters
“Cooper has had just four days to prepare since arriving in Buffalo and it would be surprising if he is able to step right in and contribute at a high level in his first week with the team. That being said, this is a player who has has experience being traded midseason, which should allow him to acclimate himself to his new surroundings at a faster pace than a player who has not gone through a similar situation.”

Wished i would have stuck with my thought on him and started him. Put in Aiyuk over him with Jennings out for SF. Hoping that doesn’t burn me as Cooper had a nice day.

Amari Cooper was limited to a 34% route participation in his first game as a Bill.

Still led the team in targets per route (42%) and fantasy points (16.6).

Can't wait to see Cooper in a full-time role with Josh Allen.

Last week Coleman was telling him where to line up, this week they won going away and didn't really need to throw the ball a ton
He hasn't been in Buffalo 2 whole weeks yet
I would relax on the whole benching concept
Ask Courtland Sutton shareholders who got bagel'd last week and then put him on their bench today, how smart they feeling?

This is who he is. I assume because of injuries stacking up over the years, but he's been questionable to play for like 4 years

I needed him today due to Pickens’ bye. I hope he gets healthy and comes thru on the last 5 weeks of regular season. Then gets really warmed up and comfortable with Josh for the fantasy playoffs.

He better. My assumption is that they chose to sit him thinking they could win the past two weeks.
Now, without Kincaid, he is needed against KC. If he doesn't play, he must be more hurt than they have stated.

He is wearing a cast on his hand/wrist? maybe someone smarter than me can explain how this is not a severe handicap in catching a football for a WR? now way I'm starting him unless I'm forced to.

Yep. Has that Tyreek feel from last game. If he can't play in this huge matchup with Chiefs id be worried as an owner. This is the game you get on the field for. If you can't then real concern for his future production sinks in.

What was that? Lead the team in targets last week and the only time I saw him on the field was when he was blocking on run plays.

Cannot be trusted.

Didn't start him

But thought him on the bills would be a good thing
Lesson learned not to expect much from in-season WR trades.

Hopkins is the only one of the three big names (Diontae obviously being the other) to have had some success, and it was really only one game a few months ago. This with three of the top QBs in the game chucking the ball. It’s typically not a plug and play position unfortunately.

Agree, but zero targets in a game that had 1,000 yards of offense is unimaginable.

Benching forever and never drafting again!!! Thought he was a great value in round 5, and was so excited when he got traded to the Bills.

Probably would have been better with Cleveland if he had stayed on with Winston?? Jeudy is blowing up anyways….

Started him in one league for the first time since he was traded this week. Was not planning on starting him early in the week either, viewed him as overly risky, but got off to a bad start in the Thursday games and felt like I needed to take a shot on upside.

14 targets last week in a likely shootout this week seemed to fit that criteria.

I understand the Bills utilized a game plan to attack weakness of the Lions and barely threw to any of their outside receivers but still stunning/shocking/hard to believe they can have that much offense and not one single target to Cooper. Felt like they'd throw him one bone or something. Just unfathomable and he's the rare type of non-diva WR who does not even get bothered by it, only people on tilt over it are those of us who started him in our playoffs.

Super disappointing and likely will end my season in my biggest money dynasty league, had 4 other players I considered starting over him and would probably be fine if I'd have went with any of them, with those players hitting between 11-28.

He's also my last original player on this team from the 2015 startup season where I took in-coming rookie Amari at 2.2(I think, I took two rookies with first two assigned picks, him and Gurley and I think I went Gurley at 1.11 but might have them flipped incorrectly). Anyway, so much for a good nostalgia story working out.

I've always viewed Amari Cooper like the new Chad Johnson/OchoCinco:
2/18
3/32
11/215/3
4/38

His end-of-season stats look good, but his variation game to game is hard to stomach.

Not this year in terms of year end stats. Looks like he’s pretty much on the back nine of his career production.
