WR Antonio Brown, FA (7 Viewers)

If Evans is out, I'm tempted to start him over McLaurin....crazy?
I can see the reasoning, but not something I’d do. Outside of two weeks this year (last week being one of them) F1 has been money in the bank. For comparison’s sake, the guys I’d be playing AB over would be the likes of Parker, Coutee, and maybe Marvin Jones (don’t like the Jiare matchup).

Antonio Brown caught 5-of-7 targets for 93 yards and one touchdown in the Bucs' Week 15 win over the Falcons.

Brown's seven targets tied Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski for the team lead. He was having a mostly quiet day before getting loose behind the defense for a 46-yard touchdown over the top with 6:19 to play that proved to be the game-winning score. It was Brown's first touchdown in six games with the Bucs. He continues to see heavy target usage and will be a WR3 next week in a dream spot against the Lions.

Antonio Brown caught 2-of-3 targets for 49 yards and one touchdown in the Bucs' Wild Card win over Washington.

Brown broke free for a 36-yard touchdown in the first quarter and turned the corner on a target in the flats for his two receptions. He seems to be getting more comfortable as the weeks stack up, although he's still being utilized as a distant third receiver behind Chris Godwin (12 targets) and Mike Evans (10 targets). Brown will be parked inside three-receiver sets next weekend, possibly in New Orleans.

Antonio Brown caught 1-of-3 targets for 10 yards in the Bucs' Divisional Round win over the Saints.

Brown wasn't targeted in the second half as he stood on the sideline with what appeared to be an injury. It was Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson soaking up snaps behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Brown will have the week to get ready for next Sunday's NFC title game against the Packers.

Antonio Brown is undergoing an MRI on his injured knee.

Brown, who had one catch for 10 yards Sunday, was seen on the sideline in the second half of Tampa's Divisional Round win over the Saints after suffering the injury. His absence opened up playing time for Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller alongside Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Brown's practice participation will be key in knowing whether the veteran will be available this week against the Packers.

Antonio Brown's knee injury is not considered serious and he'll prepare to play in the NFL championship game against the Packers.

Brown's Monday MRI on the injured knee -- which kept him sidelined for the second half last week against the Saints -- revealed no serious damage. While Brown's practice status will prove critical in the coming days, it appears he's likely to suit up for the NFC title game against Green Bay. Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller would have some fantasy relevance if Brown is sidelined.

Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said Antonio Brown (knee) will be a game-time decision against the Packers.

Arians said Brown -- who has not practiced this week after suffering the knee injury in the Divisional Round -- won't have to practice to suit up Sunday against Green Bay. "He's a veteran," Arians said. "He knows what he's doing." It's uncertain whether Brown would be limited against the Packers if he's able to play through the knee issue, making him a dicey DFS option at best. His absence would open up snaps and targets for Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson.

Antonio Brown (knee) has been ruled out for the NFC Championship against the Packers.

Brown's knee injury kept him out of practice all week and will sideline him for the NFC title game. Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson will pick up Brown's targets, though neither projects for a high-volume role behind Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rob Gronkowski. Brown should have a chance to return for the Super Bowl if the Bucs advance.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Buccaneers want WR Antonio Brown back for the 2021 season.

Brown is out for the Bucs' NFC Championship game against the Packers so he could miss their final game of the year if Tampa Bay doesn't come out on top. Regardless, Brown has played well after missing over a year of football. He closed out the regular season with 483 yards and four scores on 45 receptions while playing in just eight games. Browns and Chris Godwin are free agents this year so it's possible that the Bucs wanting to bring Brown back is a sign that the team is willing to let Godwin walk. However, the market for Brown could be tepid given his recent history of off-field issues and he is beloved by Tom Brady so his status could also have little effect on Godwin. If Godwin does walk and Brown stays, the ADP spike for Brown would reach critical mass.

Antonio Brown (knee) is expected to be ready for the Super Bowl against the Chiefs.

Brown was inactive in the NFC title game after missing the entire week of practice headed into the game. He now has two weeks to get right before the Bucs face off against Kansas City in the Bucs' home-game Super Bowl. Brown drew three targets in the Wild Card round against Washington -- catching two balls for 49 yards and a touchdown -- and three targets against the Saints in the Divisional Round before exiting with the knee injury. Against the Chiefs in Week 12, Brown caught two of three targets for 11 yards. Scotty Miller would be the primary beneficiary if Brown has a setback in practice over the next couple weeks.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians doesn't expect Antonio Brown (knee) to practice this week.

Brown and SS Antonie Winfield are expected to sit out this week of practice. “I think it’s too early,” Arians said. “Neither one of those guys will probably practice and we’ll see how it rolls out next Tuesday for both of them.” The Bucs are also hoping to get FS Jordan Whitehead (shoulder) back in the next two weeks. All three players are up in the air for Super Bowl 55.

Antonio Brown (knee) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice.

it doesn't mean much since Super Bowl LV is still 10 days out, but Brown officially hasn't practiced since injuring his knee in the Divisional Round against New Orleans. Scotty Miller was primarily used as the team's third wideout against the Packers, running 20 routes to Tyler Johnson's 12 and hauling in a 39-yard touchdown prior to the half, but neither would be leaned on if Brown is available against Kansas City. His status will be worth monitoring in the days leading up to the final game.

Jason Licht: Antonio Brown “has been nothing short of spectacular”

Excerpt:

Appearing recently on the Peter King Podcast, G.M. Jason Licht addressed Brown’s behavior with the Bucs.

“He has been nothing short of spectacular,” Licht said of Brown. “His attitude, his work ethic, which everybody knows, he works very hard, but just his attitude. He’s actually been mentoring players. I see him on the sideline this year, talking to Leonard Fournette saying, ‘Hey, be patient. Your time will come. Be a team player.’ And it’s really a remarkable moment to see Antonio Brown being a mentor. It’s been spectacular. Couldn’t be happier with him, what he’s done for us as a player, but also what he’s done for us as a teammate. A lot of people wouldn’t think you would be saying that about him, but I am.”

Licht added the Brown, who missed the NFC Championship with a knee injury, “desperately” wants to play in the Super Bowl.

“I’m optimistic at this point, but we’ll see,” Licht said.

Buccaneers Insider Has Latest On WR Antonio Brown

Excerpt:

The health of wide receiver Antonio Brown still remains a major concern for the Bucs.

The 32-year-old missed another day of practice on Friday, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. Brown was also absent from Thursday’s practice which continues to create doubt that he’ll be ready by next Sunday.

The Buccaneers wideout seems to still be nursing the same knee that kept him out of of Tampa Bay’s NFC Championship win. The team still hasn’t fully disclosed the exact nature of the injury but it appears to be fairly serious.

Stroud and other reporters at practice still sounded unsurprised at Brown’s absence. The Buccaneers seem to be using this week for rest to try and get their best players as healthy as possible going into the weekend.

Antonio Brown (knee) will practice on a limited basis Wednesday.

It's a step in the right direction for Brown, who was listed as doubtful on the Bucs' first injury report. Despite the return to practice, his status for Sunday's game still remains up in the air. Brown's health is trending up, but he'll need to avoid setbacks to be cleared for the Super Bowl.

NFL Network's Ian Rapaport said Antonio Brown (knee) "probably" plays in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs.

Brown didn't practice last week, but he returned in limited fashion on Wednesday. His workload is being ramped up ahead of the big game, enough so that it would be a big surprise if he wasn't available. Brown is a distant third option for the Bucs, particularly with the offense utilizing two tight end sets in recent weeks. The veteran will likely only play in 11-personnel while Mike Evans and Chris Godwin demand the most targets. Brown's return to the lineup would keep Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson in low-snap roles.

Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said Antonio Brown (knee) "looked good" at Thursday's practice.

Arians said Brown, safety Jordan Whitehead (shoulder), and safety Antoine Winfield, Jr. (ankle) moved well during Tampa's Thursday practice. “They all worked today and looked good. It’s just a matter of whether they swell tomorrow,” Arians said. The Bucs will practice Friday and give an injury designation for their injured players. Brown seems on track to suit up for the Super Bowl. If he's a surprise inactive, Scotty Miller would be the most likely beneficiary.

Antonio Brown (knee) was upgraded to "full" for Thursday's practice.

In other words, Brown will be active for Super Bowl LV. It's still unclear why the Bucs initially listed Brown as "doubtful" last weekend. They must have been going by the letter of the law that, had the game been happening that day, AB would not have suited up. Brown will be something of an X-factor as Chris Godwin deals with the Chiefs' stingy slot coverage. Brown was limited to two grabs for 12 yards the first time these two teams met in Week 12, and that was with the Bucs playing from behind the entire afternoon.

Antonio Brown (knee) is considered questionable against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Brown practiced fully Friday for the second straight day, apparently avoiding the knee swelling that head coach Bruce Arians worried about early in the week. He looks to be a go for the Super Bowl, and will continue to operate as Tom Brady's third option behind Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Brown active would mean Scotty Miller is little more than a Hail Mary DFS option.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Antonio Brown (knee) is expected to be active for Super Bowl LV on Sunday.

The same is true of Cameron Brate (back). It means the Bucs will be at full strength offensively after Brown missed the NFC Championship Game and Brate tweaked his back in practice this week. AB has seen light usage during the playoffs, drawing just five targets between the Wild Card and Divisional Rounds, but he comes with plenty of DFS upside in one of the highest-totaled Super Bowls in history.

Antonio Brown caught 5-of-6 targets for 22 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs' Super Bowl LV victory over the Chiefs.

Signed in October as the Bucs dealt with a banged up skill corps, Brown appeared in all eight contests he was eligible for after completing his eight-game suspension for various off-the-field transgressions. Knocking off the rust of having made just one appearance in 22 months, Brown caught 45 balls for 483 yards and four scores as the Bucs’ No. 3 wideout. 27 of his 61 targets came in two games, though all four of his scores came in the final three weeks of the regular season. Brown’s 10.7 yards per catch were his fewest since his lightly-used rookie year in 2010, but he was certainly good enough to be a part of this offense. With Chris Godwin headed to free agency, the Bucs reportedly want Brown back for his age-33 campaign after he played on a one-year deal this season.

From Next Gen Stats:

Antonio Brown is able to beat press coverage with elite burst off the line of scrimmage. Brown averaged a 9.13 MPH top speed within 1 second of his press routes this season, 2nd-fastest in the NFL (min. 50 press routes).

Certainly shows he hasn't lost a step. Just not nearly as many targets this year compared to what he used to get.

Mission accomplished.  Don't blow your top, play nice, get a ring, and show some bursts.  He'll get another nice payday next year  now from a team that needs to take calculated risks.  LVR would have been such a great fit had he not already burned that bridge.  Now where - LAC?  BAL?

Baltimore would be pretty interesting.

Not interesting at all if you are invested in AB but I guess it would be interesting to see if the new seemingly restrained and team oriented AB could hold it together with the limited chances this offense gives WR's.

I personally think AB has higher expectations for his QB and never considered Baltimore so long as he had other options. I'm not even sure if his cousin playing on the team helps or hurts as Marquise is already chirping about his touches so would he really welcome that kind of  competition for the already small pie?

Tampa does seem the most likely place, at least it's the place I'd say if I only had one pick, but I still can't shake thinking it's going to be hard if they keep Godwin because I do think AB will be looking for more money and at least a chance to be higher then WR3. I would also say as someone invested in him if he returned to TB with Godwin I would be mildly disappointed, but would view him returning without Godwin as the ideal situation for his fantasy value. One were AB would grow his role out of the slot, offering Brady that quick strike reliable target that has been such a boon in the past with him.

Outside of Tampa there really are a lot of places I could see but I do think he cares about the QB and all things being close to equal that will factor in his decision. As we sit here today a lot of situations will change depending on how much we see QB movement. For instance if Russell Wilson or Watson were to get moved, two QB's who both reportedly wanted their teams to sign AB and he has relationships, their new teams become possible contenders(now that would be interesting to me). Miami seems likes like a possibility, especially if they don't address WR in round one. Green Bay was one of the teams that showed him some interest and if they try and appease Rodgers maybe they'll step up stronger this time and try and sign him.

I still think about half the teams in the league don't want him, are scared off by him. But I also think his market grew considerably from the small handful of teams when he signed with Tampa. He'll have options but for sure he loves playing with Brady in Florida on a SB winning team, he just also likes catching a lot of passes and getting paid.

but would view him returning without Godwin as the ideal situation for his fantasy value
Yep, the best hope is here back with Tom, but with less target competition. I feel like a win now team like the bucs won't let Godwin get away, probably by tagging him. But maybe if they're convinced AB is solid, or if they like Johnson/Miller/Watson enough as backup plans for AB going awol, they don't tag Godwin

But the real hurdle for AB is just making it to opening day without doing something stupid right now. If he clears that hurdle the general opinion of him will change bigly.

In your first paragraph I would change they and they're to Brady.

I have zero concerns about him doing something stupid and have repeatedly been on the record in this thread of saying those concerns are way overblown.

I just want to be able to trade him for something worth it lol. He cost me nothing via ww pickup...
I think signing Godwin will serve tuff. Then if Godwin goes, AB becomes an attractive option. So depends on if you can sell Godwin’s gone. I’d like get a first for him. I’m gonna try to sell, but if I can’t I’m sure he will be of use next year.

I just want to be able to trade him for something worth it lol. He cost me nothing via ww pickup...
I doubt anyone will in any dynasty worth anything. Ride him till he bucks ya. He had some monster games down the stretch. If he stays in Tampa he’ll have a big season.

I have zero concerns about him doing something stupid and have repeatedly been on the record in this thread of saying those concerns are way overblown.
I haven't been in this thread/ on this board much the last couple months, but I'll agree with you on the risk if the bucs and Brady are confident enough to let Godwin walk. Considering AB was in the news for losing it 2 weeks before joining the bucs, I wouldn't agree they are way overblown right now though. Maybe just a bit overblown😁

But I was more referring to his fantasy value when I said hurdle. Most people think he's a ticking time bomb. I can see him start to get moved for more valuable assets are the season approaches, because more people will be interested as he goes longer without screwing up.

ESPN's Jenna Laine reports the Bucs are "actively" talking with free agent Antonio Brown.

The same is true with fellow Bucs free agents Ndamukong Suh, Leonard Fournette and Ryan Succop. Brown hasn't been connected to any other teams, and the Bucs could be the only club willing to sign him at this point. 27 of Brown's 61 2020 targets came in two games, though all four of his scores came in the final three weeks of the regular season. Brown’s 10.7 yards per catch were his fewest since his lightly-used rookie year in 2010, but he was certainly good enough to be a part of this offense.

The Tampa Bay Times reports there is "still no sign" free agent WR Antonio Brown is close to re-signing with the Bucs.

It would appear any potential Bucs offer would max out around $2.5 million, while Brown is reportedly seeking something closer to "market value," whatever he considers that to be. 34-year-old DeSean Jackson recently signed a $4.5 million deal with the Rams. For what it's worth, Bucs coach Bruce Arians has said the odds Brown is back with the team are "okay." Brown's biggest problem is that no other team appears even remotely interested.
