WR Chimere Dike, TEN (1 Viewer)

Chimere Dike rubbed his neck, shook his head side to side, and looked woozy. It was announced that he was out with a concussion.

Since, the Titans have said no concussion but he has a chest contusion.

Bottomline- he fumbled, dove, and got beat up pretty good in the pig pile.

It's unclear if he'll play next week as it's early and there simply isn't any urgency due to their record n all

I suppose this was bound to happen with a returner. Hopefully, he feels better soon, and it's just a blip in an otherwise stellar rookie season.

I don't think they had much of a practice on Wednesday. I generally don't give much of any credence to Wednesday practices. Many rested.

I did find it odd that Dike was listed as a full participant. I don't even like how McCoy says he didn't have a concussion all defiant like. The PR dept said as such so the announcers relayed that AND we all saw him look woozy from our couches.

Chest contusion. I mean maybe that too but I'm not....are the Titans being dopes about the concussion? What's going on?

McCoy said Dike practiced like usual this week per TD

It seems he's good to go
I’m assuming he’ll stay on kick return duties. Not sure why he wouldn’t… but a very important question for those of us rocking him in kick return yardage leagues.

The team has nothing elite but him returning so it would be unwise to change.

Their last few years have been full of unwise decisions so I won't put it past them but...if this was last year's SFB and I had him as a returner I'd certainly start him.

I'd put Restrepo over him at WR too. I'd want to see the difference between a WR out of sync and undisciplined and a WR disciplined and in sync with Cam. X is far slower and less athletic but I wanna see it.

Chimere Dike caught 5-of-7 targets for 44 yards and a touchdown in the Titans’ Week 12 loss to the Seahawks.

In addition to tying for the team lead in targets, Dike notched a second score when he housed a third quarter punt for a 90-yard special teams touchdown. It was Dike’s second return TD in three games, though fantasy managers will be more heartened by his second best reception total of the season. With Calvin Ridley (broken leg) done for the year, there should be more where that came from, though both floor and ceiling are difficult to come by in this bottom-three offensive environment. The Jaguars are not a great Week 13 matchup.

Jim Wyatt quotes Dike as giving credit to his speed coach for his fast returns.

Can you imagine if this kid gets quicker or faster?

Would you still prefer Ayomanor to him in dynasty (receiving only, not including returns)? If so, is it still as clear-cut as before?

Yeah.
He reminds me of Ginn and Austin. He did run a few big boy routes recently so its possible he's improving. He usually runs routes like an 8th grade kid. His speed probably allowed him to get away with it at lower levels.
Elic can't put it altogether. He'll beat the press, plant his foot, knock away a hand, use his body and nice job rookie! But the next route he gets tied up somewhere, the CB is smothering him and I wouldn't throw to him either if I was Ward.

Elic said in an interview that he has been talking about playing basketball with Cam. (Cam is a former point guard and loves it) Little tid bit -and yeah maybe he's failing now- but I appreciate how he's always got some little story of trying to be in sync with his QB.

I guess it's just a choice and a guess at this point but I'm always gonna go with the tactician little things guy.

ETA usually slots and TEs don't mix for FF. (This is not absolute) They adore Gunnar and Dike plays slot. He's thin and spry. They probably add a FA or draft an outside WR if Ridley isn't there and I'm not sure Dike can hack it outside on a regular basis.

People forget so quickly what they want to forget.
Last year, Jhaquan led the NFL in return yards and then fell some more n more as the season went on. He probably finished or would have finished between top 5-10.

He fumbled five times. He was benched after the third and Callahan was furious. He was eventually given a chance and fumbled two more times.

He was the leading vote getter for pro bowl returner.

Last year he was gadgety on offense with screens and end arounds and occasionally rarely caught more typical passes. He was 4th 5th WR or so and limited usage- when not in the doghouse.

*******
Dike was drafted by a different GM while Jhaquan was on the roster.

He fumbled for the third time today and arguably the fourth because a bobble drop pickup catch is a debatable fumble if the runner regains possession and advanced the ball.

So that atrocious ST coach is gone and there's a gem of a ST coach.
Callahan was fired.

There's still a hmmm you replaced a role that was done here and with their highest picked WR too.
That's super questionable roster management when there are 35 needs and the GM upgrades at one.

He's no doubt better and an improvement or upgrade.

So the Titans don't have Callahan and don't have Don Shula either.
I didn't think Callahan benching Jhaquan was wrong but what he said and how he behaved was terrible. There's gotta be a comeback route for any rookie benched to show he learned and it was so so negative with Jhaquan that I was thinking umm you're not helping his nerves dude.

Do you think it would be wise to bench Dike due to fumbles?
Not your FF team not how the Titans stink.
You're developing a WR/returner and here we are: do you bench him for a week?
Stories of guys carrying a football 24/7- make him do that for a week?
