WR Cooper Kupp, SEA (6 Viewers)

Walking boots are basically irrelevant these days. Doesn't tell us a thing.

But if it is a HAS, I'd expect him to be out until after the Bye.

If they can beat the Bears, they could be 1-4 before their BYE, and bring back Kupp/Puka/Oline with some winnable games all lined up right afterwards.

They were also off to a bad start last year and turned it around... no way McVay just punts the season... don't think that's in his blood.

What sucks about this is the Rams looked awful. They looked like a team that has one option to throw to and the other team finally realized it. Now, without Kupp and Puka, how can we reasonably expect this team to win games?
Rams can't block anyone right now.

When they have blocking, McVay and Stafford will get a tune out of Kupp/Johnson/Robinson/Parkinson, whoever. Fewer coaches I trust more to run an offense.

But they cannot block anyone.
I think if McVay could choose a healty OL or healthy group of WR's he's be choosing a healthy OL without question. It's easily their major issue right now.

Going to be a struggle for them the next few weeks. Maybe after the well placed week 6 bye they start getting a chunk of players back.

Never seen McVay as the give up type. Understand they may be in the QB market next off-season but I still think even if they are 0-5/1-4 he will do everything he can to continue to be competitive and try and win.
why?
I don't know if they fear an age drop off but they've been taking it year to year with him for the last two seasons now. He knows it and why wanted some more guarantees added which they did but not enough to prohibit them from moving on if they choose.

Big sign a team is at minimum putting themselves in a position to move on from a player is when that player has a high base salary and additional years left in their contract and they won't convert that high base into a signing bonus because they don't want to get hit with a big cap charge the next year if they decide to move on. This actually applies to Kupp as well. Stafford has a $23.5m base this year and Kupp's is $15M. They currently have the least cap space in the league. It's likely they have to dip into that well a little and convert some of those salaries to bonus to be able to fill out their roster but the fact it's obvious it's not at all what they want to do is a very telling indicator to me of the plans they are making after this season. I'll stress I doubt any decisions are made, just that it seems to me if they are planning on it if that's the direction they want to take it.
There's been no real noticeable skill drop off that I can see, think this is more injury concern which is legitimate with Stafford. But if he does remain healthy think he'll continue to play and for the Rams.

May drop Kupp in short bench league. Non PPR. Gotta know by today some time. I cannot afford injured guys cluttering up my bench, and I have a gut feeling that it's not going to be worth waiting out. Love Kupp but he's an injury waiting happen anymore.

Injury concerns are real and despite them saying otherwise I believe some very credible reports they shopped him last off-season before a $57m guarantee kicked in. I think its a situation where they no longer are willing to guarantee him money past the next season and will continue to say they are leaving the options open to move on as soon as after this season. That guys both ways as Stafford may no longer be ok playing on a relatively low base without future guarantees. They appeased him this off-season, not sure they will again.

Drop him for who? There is no way I drop Kupp at this point

C'mon man. Don't do that.

My app gave me breaking news of "good news for the rams..." and I got excited... but it was just that Jimmy G's suspension was lifted lol. Dammit!

The way Rams have been dropping, they'll probably need him.

Rams' Cooper Kupp: Slated to miss time

Coach Sean McVay noted Monday that Kupp (ankle) will be out for "an extended period of time" and could land on injured reserve, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register report.
Kupp injured his left ankle during Sunday's loss to the Cardinals and is now poised to miss some time. With Puka Nacua (knee) already on IR, the Rams' top healthy WR options are currently Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington.

The organization might need to take a long hard look at their strength and conditioning staff. Injuries happen but that's a lot for just the start of the season.

Time to trade him away to someone willing to wait it out, imo. High ankles typically linger for WRs. He probably won;t be right for the rest of the season. Reminiscent of Michael Thomas' infamous high ankle injury season.

I'm not considering that until more is understood.

I suppose if you start 0-2, maybe you have increased consideration for a trade away.

Kupp likely going on IR per Mcvay. FFS.
Well, looks like I'm dropping him
I still wouldn't.
I mean how short of benches are we talkin
It's a weird league. 6 WR spots, start 4.....so only two bench spots......very restrictive waivers. You gotta be bold........i'd venture to guess a vast majority of football guys wouldnt touch this league a 10 ft pole.....it's my favorite league by far

The Rams placed OL Jonah Jackson and S John Johnson on IR, but not Cooper Kupp. While that seems like a positive sign, I would caution against reading too much into possible timeline. Rams running out of future return designations. At least it shows injury is not season-ending.

Yeah I was coming here to mention this. McVay was talking yesterday about already running low on the return from IR spots.

ETA-I think it's still encouraging, just needs some context.

Well, it seems like it would eliminate the sky is falling scenario where his season is over.

I feel for you Rams management.

My fantasy team is also out of IR spots.

Great, now we will have to deal with the "Out" designation on Friday and then back to "Q" on Tuesday so you have to dump a guy to make transactions and then all over again for the following week.

People talking about dropping Kupp need to take a breath. Did you guys miss the game he put up previously? Stafford feeds him, just throws that ball into Kupp's mouth and feeds the dude. You really shouldn't give that kind of potential up just yet.

Me too. We have 4 slots and I have 5 players on IR.

Yeah, the add/drop issue is legit, but we already know it’s 4 weeks+. From what I’ve seen, if the Rams didn’t have so many on IR already, he’d be there.

Makes it easy for me - I know he’s a roster clogger until he’s back. If he makes it back before week 7 I’m calling that a win.

Dude is a FF monster when he’s out there.

And afraid me three and actually have Kupp on a team with Puka and I can't even put Puka on IR because I used the 3 slots up before we ever kicked off on Hockenson, Brooks and Kendre and had to cut Elijah Mitchell. Got a few more players out and it's just a 20 man roster.

So I'm glad he's not been put on IR because this is my only league I own him that even has IR so I'd rather see all the other Kupp owners burning a roster spot like me. Sorry, I'm petty.

What app are you on? If on ESPN, you can't place someone on IR when Q, but you if already on IR from the previous week and there with Q tag, you can still make transactions. This was changed last year and went unnoticed by many people.
