WR Cooper Kupp, SEA (2 Viewers)

Man, I suddenly feel like the low guy on Kupp
Hey, it happens. There are players I change stances on a gut feeling all the time.

I feel like Kupp could play 15 games, and put up WR1 numbers in the process.

Puka with the balky knee & Kupp reportedly 100% & looking good in camp - if he comes out balling, we’ll know what the right prediction was. If he gets gimpy in a couple weeks that will also be telling.

I didn’t feel like playing it safe. I went for upside. I don’t think Waddle or Smith have Kupp’s ceiling. I took a chance on a bounce back. His connection with Stafford is undeniable. All he needs is good health.

We’ll find out soon enough.

Marvin Harrison AND Reggie Wayne
I had that duo and also won with them.

Another year I got absolutely destroyed by the team that took Manning + the 2 PPR machines in Denver in a league with big yardage bonuses.

IIRC it was a TNF game, either opening week or week 2. I was down 150+ before any of my players took the field. They went absolutely ham.
haha. i had teams with those combos as well. i keenly remember someone mocking me for taking both dthom and decker in a 2qb league where i also had manning. i imagine he forgot about it fairly quickly.

I have a hard time with two WRs from the same offense too but it's developed (as was said) since guys like Wayne and Harrison. I'll take em both maybe a little begrudgingly but after the draft I'm glad I have them.

Man, I suddenly feel like the low guy on Kupp. He went 39th in my draft Wednesday, and I didn't even really consider him. I got both Waddle and DeVonta Smith after him and would have taken both over him.

Its kinda funny how this works out sometimes. Just after the NFL Draft, I was probably high, or at least on par on Kupp, now I think he's pretty overvalued. I feel like he's a 4/5 turn kind of guy, low-end WR2.
:blackdot:

I strenuously disagree

As a WR1... no, but if you can sneak him as a #3 or LOAD up everywhere else then take Kupp as a 2. Hell yeah
I ended up with CMC, Kupp, Metcalf, Nabers, Kincaid, Harris, Higgins (FLX), Javonte, Murray.

Couldn't be happier with that lineup. I would have taken Nico over Kupp if he'd made it back to me, but someone reached for him early 2nd so
I am totally hoping I can go RB-WR-WR with a Nico and Kupp tandem. When I have the early pick and that 2/3 turn, just hoping I'm not sniped.
This is what I did. I went Hall, Kupp, Nico.
Interesting you took Kupp before Nico. Since Kupp's ranking in ESPN is an idiotic 45, I usually go with Nico first (ranked 26) and take him in the 2nd and then Kupp at 3.03.

I think if Nico is sniped from me at 2.10, I may grab whoever must have fallen to me in either M. Harrison or D. London and then still hope Kupp is there at 3.03.

Still not super comfortable with Kupp as my #1WR.

I did, to me Hou has too many mouths to feed and (just mho) Diggs is going to over take him as WR1.

Kupp now has Puka taking a lot of coverage away from him and I'm expecting a very good yr if he stays healthy

I think Tank Dell is the WR to have in HOU this year.

I think Dell and Nico Collins will both eat this year while Diggs is the disappointment for fantasy purposes.

Nico does so much after the catch that he’s going to get his regardless.

I would agree if talking about their ADPs of late 2nd for Collins vs mid/late 5th for Dell.

Another factor for me is the team and their prospects. The Rams aren't world-beaters, Stafford is 36 and McVay seemed like he might call it quits at one point. He came back but it makes me wonder if his heart is still in it. That doesn't seem like a recipe for an electric offense.

Finally, I feel like they'll just shut anyone down who's remotely hurting if their playoff prospects are bleak. Maybe I have a cynical view of the team. But nobody plays in the preseason and they seem focused on protecting their assets.

I think Puca is clearly the better option, but Kupp might be the better value considering where he's going. I think those who aren't reaching for them are in good shape. Still don't like the "vibe" of this team going into the season, though. Kind of like Dallas for me. I have a "wheels could come off" feeling about those two clubs.

Next Gen Stats
Cooper Kupp had 42 snaps and 12 touches in motion in Week 1, the most by any player in a game over the last seven seasons.

Kupp was in motion at the snap on 30 plays, 6 more than any other player in a game over that time span.

Powered by @awscloud

Cooper Kupp traveled a total of 436 yards in pre-snap motion, the 2nd-most in a game by any player since 2018.

Kupp himself is the only other player to travel more distance in pre-snap motion (446 yards), which he did in Week 14, 2023.

The Lions schemed to avoid giving up the big play. Between that and Stafford having very little time is the reason for all the short routes.

I’m considering drastic things to get Kupp on my roster, like trading Achane or a second or first round caliber redraft player. Someone talk me off the ledge; old man Cooper can’t get 20 targets every week, can he?
20 targets, almost certainly won't happen.

Stafford threw it 49 times. Over 17 games, that would come out to 833 pass attempts. Seems unsustainable.
But even if THAT part keeps up, 21 targets is 43% target share. That certainly seems unsustainable.

I wouldn't target him at all coming off of that game. Price is enormous.

I’m considering selling high
Me too. Right now best offer was Mixon, but not sure I like that.
I haven’t gotten any offers and I have him on a league that I just joined this year and only know one of my league mates. I might put some feelers out tonight. It’s my first time playing in a 10 teamer and no one is really hard up at wr. Or anything else. I prefer at least 12 teams

Yea only way I can do 10 team anymore is if it's 2QB.

I’m a Puka owner who wishes he drafted Kupp who also owns Stafford in a 10 teamer 2 QB league. I was just thinking yesterday it wouldn’t be a bad idea to own Puka and Kupp for when he returns… so I was running through trade scenarios but just couldn’t make it work.

I’m pretty stacked at running back with, and also own Cedee, but after that my WRs have a lot of question marks.

I don’t think I have the firepower to trade for Kupp without me feeling like I’m overpaying and the Kupp owner feeling like he’s not upgrading his roster.

A guy like Kamara comes to mind as a fair offer to me, but I’m sure the Kupp owner feels like that’s a little undervalued.

And to be honest, looking at the Kupp owners roster he’s deep at running back and light at WR after Kupp… so I’m not even sure why I’m still typing this.

With Puka out, for what I think may be a long time, I am thinking about picking up Tyler Johnson as a handcuff to Kupp. I never cuffed a receiver before, but this is a prolific offense. Almost plug and play like some RB systems. Without Puka, Kupp will be doing his old MVP things until he gets hurt himself. If that happens before Puka returns, Johnson would become startable. Thoughts?

I would rather have Demarcus Robinson. He and Stafford developed a rapport last year and I am guessing he is flex worthy while Puka is out and would take the lead if both Puka and Kupp were out.

It just seemed like Tyler is stepping up more, over Demarcus who has 8 years in the league with nothing to show for it. But what about the Kupp handcuff concept in general?

Like I said, I think if both Kupp and Puka were out that Robinson takes that role. I think Tyler will be more hit and miss and that Stafford/Robinson have a connection. Robinson was good last year down the stretch.

Tyler Johnson was Puka's immediate backup and moved into Puka's spot when he got injured. It remains to be seen whether he can come close to Puka's production, but he's going to be running the routes Puka was. The plan is for Robinson to remain in his role.

he's a great sell high in dynasty... if you're rebuilding.

otherwise, how can you sell this guy?
I sold in the offseason for JJM, pick 3.02, and a LB2.

Before the JJM knee surgery of course.

Couldn’t get any takers in my other 16-teamer, unfortunately. Now he’s on my IR, and I’m down a receiver.

I still think Robinson gets a larger role.

Yep - I drafted Robinson everywhere with a late pick. In 2 leagues where I have Kupp.

As a Kupp AND Puka owner in dynasty, of course I'm relieved to have him.

But man Stafford better spread it around some or it's really just a countdown to a 15-20 target game landing Kupp on the trainer's table too.

I traded away Tagovailoa for Kupp this week. Pinch me.
Start 3 qbs?

Contract league a SuperFlex. I kept Hurts and Richardson. BYoung as the emergency QB. Better to bolster my WR corps with Kupp then hang on to Tag.
oh for sure, seems like a good trade when you already had those 4 qbs

I feel bad that Tua was injured. But picking up Kupp was huge. I love trading players on my bench for players I can start. That’s the way trading works best in my opinion. I give a backup for a starter and they give a backup for a starter. Although in this case Kupp was a starter for them. They simply had a number of good WR and a desperate need for a QB to put in the SuperFlex.
