WR D.J. Chark, ATL (1 Viewer)

One on one all night! Chark has proven he can beat that brother. Everything is going to change for the Jags offense soon now.......
The consolidation prize for those of us that have Fornette but couldn't fit Chark onto our rosters is the emergence of Chark will open up that O which should help Fornette

Another factor from last night - Dede Westbrook had 3 horrible drops, including one that should have been a TD. From what I saw it looks like he's bracing for a hit before he completes the catch. Meanwhile Chark is fighting for the ball in the air and getting it done, so just another reason why Minshew will probably continue to look his way.

Minshew's aDOT was pretty low and his accuracy outside the numbers past twenty yards is very suspect; I suspect teams will adjust their coverages accordingly. That said, he had a really good feel for the pocket and the field in general. Looks in command out there.

Or it's an opportunity to buy him cheaply.  He's still getting lots of targets.

Ride the window. Reminds me of the Bobby A/Bryce Petty connection the year before Darnold down the stretch. Looked like a world beater

I think they indicated he shadowed Allen Robinson of Chicago (I roster him) when they played, so they'll shadow the top guy regardless of stature within the league, I guess.
My perception of Harris is he’s at his best in the slot but will shadow when another team has a clear top guy. I know we all love Chark in here and believe he will and should ascend to that but Dede had the higher profile coming in and has had more targets in 2/3 games. And I believe plays the slot more. Would seem like a Harris would be on him more rather than following Chark everywhere.

That's a really good point and sort of inarguable, really. I thought he played slot, too. PFF has him listed as covering Valdez-Scantling this week from RCB, so there's that, too.

Love the TDs but 6 targets a game have me a little concerned. This could be just the beginning but it seems like Chark is the 1b on a run first team. I like that Minshew seems competent but Charks floor is low. He's playing great though. Love the contested catches in all the games. His first TD catch with Foles was amazing.

yeah, I'm more excited about him in dynasty than redraft, but he could help people win some leagues down the stretch this year if Foles comes back strong. We all know Foles is money when he comes in cold during the season lol

I just hope Chark stays healthy long-term, his lankiness makes me a little nervous when he goes up for those contested catches lol.

Missed and pissed. He seems like he has a lot of potential. Great adjustment on that deep ball last night and is a big play waiting to happen. Could have had him on Dyno waivers after week one...

Traded in my 25 year redraft today along with CJA (SRSLY) for Chris Thompson and George Kittle.

After I cleaned the soda off my device I approved the trade. 🤦🏻‍♂️ but whatever.

So...according to SoS, Denver is not a great matchup for WRs (ranked 29th). Anyone putting the Chark on ice this week? And if so, who you got instead?

nope.....i dont see how....denver d got torched by mvs and tyrell.....playing him in every league and if he regresses so be it.....alot of people said to sit mcalurin vs Chicago too....chark is hot....ride it out

Have to choose between Chark, Sutton, and Metcalf as WR2 and flex, having a hard time ranking them this week.

Chark has been torrid --overall and certainly seems to have a higher floor than the others -- so it's really hard to sit him.

His volume is really low comparatively and PFF notes he's really on an unsustainable pace. His aDOT and catch rate are unique in that he has a serious aDOT and a very high catch rate. He also has limited targets (18) and target share. He's overperformed his XFP (expected fantasy points) by a huge margin, and people think he'll regress to the mean or have anomalous secondary stats.

Well he has a rare and unique mustache throwing to him. Is that accounted for in all your fancy PFF data?

aDOT is such an interesting stat, and seems so much more utile than YPC. I guess Chark's higher aDOT could have been inferred from his putting up at least 50+ yards in each game on a low-ish average # of targets. He may be great at catching those targets he gets downfield, but doesn't have an obvious path to higher target share

One considerable cap on Chark's target share is that Minshew is also leaning more on Fournette in the running game - the guy has 6+ targets every game.

Yeah, Fournette has gotten red zone touches through the air mostly, was the lament by one or two writers. Interesting.

As for Chark, it shows he can track and catch the deep ball, and it also shows that it's being thrown with accuracy when it is thrown (by both Foles and Minshew).

Those are solid options.   I like Chark and expect his targets to increase.

He had a TD catch taken back because of a hold. He looked good today. Had another target in the endzone too where the DB knocked the ball away. Close to a 2 TD game.

Chark with a rather pedestrian day, 4 for 44.

Will be bigger days ahead, he's clearly a key part of this passing offense.

Dede had a nicer day and you wonder if he continues to do well how that impacts target load.

Either way, Chark remains what he was -- a boom/bust receiver with upside.
