WR Davante Adams, LAR (5 Viewers)

Great news for ARod and that’s about it. I’m no way it helps Wilson. He 100% will see less targets.
Well, if Wilson receives less than the 10 he got last night, Aaron is plain stupid. Their timing looked really good for the first time this season. For some reason, he didn’t target him the last couple drives. Maybe would have won the game if he had instead of throwing to useless, old Mike Williams.

Who didn't see this coming. We all knew this would be the landing spot.

Now Detroit needs to go get Crosby!
Crosby is untouchable IMO. Still a very young stud - if he was 30 I can understand it. The lions pick will be late probably.
Two 1st Rd picks would likely get him, 1st and a 2nd might snag him, the pick likely won't be Top 5 but you can't assume 32 either
And there would be more than 1 team that wants him so you should be able to have a small bidding war
Just my opinion

He will get more quality targets. CB2 covering him with almost no double coverage. Think Waddle, Tee and DSmith. When it's going good, they all eat.
While I agree in concept, ARod seems far more likely to zero in on His guy.
I have Wilson in multiple leagues and have lower expectations now. He’ll still start for me.

Mike Williams
had a terrible game and I wouldn't be surprised if the jets release him
Maybe they will have the Head of Security walk him out
Yeah. Rodgers in his presser last night, seemed really pissed at MW for running the wrong route on that deep throw on their last series. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that was the trigger for the team to get the Adams deal done.

I've been at a lot of companies over the years. The number where people aren't walked out of the building not just when they are fired, but when they give 2 weeks notice, is very low. Oracle, IBM, KPMG, Microsoft, etc. You are usually gone when you submit your 2 weeks notice. One of those CEOs fired two people during their video conference presentation, and security walked into a room of 300+ employees and walked them out of the building. He fired them from clear across the country. Not sure why people think a company wants someone around the building that is no longer an employee,

I find myself glad over two things.

I got Adams on a few teams. Was not high on him but he fell to the 4th round of a few drafts and late third in one I did after the two opening games when the board was thinned out and he as solid at that price. I got a lot of injuries on some teams he's on and this trade was what he needed to heal this hamstring so happy about that.

Glad the Steelers did not trade for him. He needed about 75 targets more then Pickens last year to have the same yardage and they can't get him the ball enough.

I'm looking at this and seeing Tampa Bay as a fair comparison. Adams will be the consistent volume getter, and Wilson will be more boom/bust weekly guy, but I think they'll be close in total numbers. Rodgers at this stage can be Mayfield without the rushing, which 2 years ago, would have sounded crazy to be saying as a good thing.

Having said that, much like I'd rather have Godwin than Evans, I'd rather have Adams than Wilson.

I also think this isn't great news for Breece Hall, at least in PPR, who goes from a big-time receiving weapon and occasional #2, to probably doing more pass blocking than anything, and potentially #4 option.

I believe that if this JuJu thing works out, the Chiefs aren't going to make any moves at all.

Solving an issue with an in-house resource is almost always the most efficient solution.

Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make.

I don't think Wilson, Adams, or Lazard owners should be too thrilled. you KNOW Lazard is gonna have a few more big games this year, screwing up everything.

THe WR position this season from week 1 is a hellscape. A flaming evil hellscape.

and magically he hamstring is healed
:ROFLMAO:

@joebryant: We really need to bring back the laughing emoji. I'm sure the triggered by everything crowd will toughen up eventually. Maybe start an emoji triggering support group?

:goodposting:

...and it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune, then the piper will lead us to reason
and a new day will dawn, for those who stand long, and the forests will echo with laughter...

Does anyone remember laughter?

I think the Jets are better than 2-4. They have a good defense and Adams makes them better on offense. Hall is good, but they could use a better TE. The OL needs to protect Rodgers or none of this matters.
This.

The Jets are arguably 3 plays from being 5-1. All 3 of their losses came when the offense just needed to make one more play and couldn't. Davante Adams even in year 11, can be counted on to make a play every week.

Hall is good, but they could use a better TE.
I never thought it would happen but before the trade went down I admit deep down I was pulling for Mayer and/or Braelon to be included. That's fantasy football wish casting of course, but also a surplus vs need situation would have been fun to see worked out. Assuming Mayer will be ok soon.

So he's set for free agency in early January, good to know
Jets can always re-do his deal, and extend him, won't affect the compensation.

Yeah, I’d be surprised if he’s not extended. Only scenario where that doesn’t happen is probably if the Jets totally implode and Rodgers decides to hang ‘em up after this year. Tear up the old deal, give him a 3 year contract starting in ‘25, shift a bunch of those base salaries into bonuses and give the Jets an out after 2026 when Rodgers is probably retired and his replacement already drafted and Adams is going on 34-35
