WR Davante Adams, LAR (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure he'd care about going to the Browns as long as they stepped up to the plate with a big fat extension and they have cap space at the moment after freeing a bunch up to try to trade for Aiyuk. Time and time again we've seen that players only really care about money (as they should and I don't fault them for that.)

For as much as players talk about "going to a contender", money ALWAYS wins out, even if they go to the worst team in the league. It's all talk and bluster - they want the money more than rings and glory.

Yes.

And if the Raiders had re-structured his contract this off-season like he wanted we’d not be having these discussions on where he’d like to be traded.

I realize it is unlikely, but I assume today is the last feasible day for a trade to happen to be able to play this weekend (medical clearance, etc). Right?

Lets get this done today.
I think if it's the Jets and they had their druthers they'd rather not make the trade until they get back from London. Just seems like a massive distraction, takes teams focus away from the task at immediate hand with a big time acquisition sitting stateside.

In general I think every team but the Raiders but would rather make a move for him next week then this week. It's to late for him to really play, even if his hamstring was fine. It's just a distraction for this weeks games at this point plus unless the Raiders are picking up money any team receiving him will shave a million of his pay if it's next week.

As such I think this goes down next week. Early, like Monday or Tuesday.

I feel like he's pulling with people's legs because Ravens already don' use their pass catchers but if true it's horrible for Adams and Flowers and with Zay I wonder if he'll make waves.

Its possible after spending 2+ years with the Raiders, Adams now cares more about winning, than numbers. Not saying that's what's happening, but playing for the Raiders will do things to a guy.

I'd go with he does not have a choice or the Raiders are willing to push some guarantees into future years which I still contend is his reason for his discontent with the Raiders.

Frankly I have a hard time believing he does not care about his numbers.

I think his discontent is playing for a crappy team that is poorly managed. so hes in jail and really doesnt see the light at the end of the tunnel. if the team is drafting a new QB next year, he has to live through that. by the time the raiders get a high calibre QB drafted and developed he likely is too old. its not like the guy has a lot of years left in his career. I think he wants to win.

to be honest, the raiders should be content trading him. if they can get a good, young WR that would be a better fit given the direction this team is going (rebuild)

You can think what you want but I believe the credible reports he's been asking for a contract adjustment since February and his ire has only gotten stronger as he's seen the WR market explode and the way the Dolphins took care of Tyreek.

And it sure makes no sense to be totally on board and then want to bail because the team is so crappy when they are 2-2. But you think what you want.

Funny that Adams was trying to orchestrate a trade to NYJ. Multiple article reports. This not directly announced by Adams.
So he wants to rejoin with Rodgers there.
Who just lost to the Broncos at home.
Against Bo Knix.
Where Rodgers threw 42 times.
And Breece Hall only ran the ball 10 times.
When with 1:31 left Broncos missed a 50 yard FG.
And the next possession Rodgers threw 5 passes in a row. None to Wilson.
And then NYJ misses a 50 yard FG with 51sec left.

Wow way to use the clock. Way to use your best players.
Rodgers is a major problem there. And that coaching staff has no control.
Just pathetic. Maybe Adams does belong there. Where players go to rot.

After this he posted a quote from Poe about not believing what you see or hear so I think the Ravens link was not intentional.

So we're at this point? Player isn't really injured but the team is pulling him back?
This is painful, there is a bidding war and I'm sure Adam Snifter is going to break the news Sunday morning and then Adams will need a week to arrive and get acclimated
Wk 5 OUT!...Wk 6 Trade/Tarvel...Wk 7 Trade and arrival, get his clothes and house situated
Week 8 before he might be useful and that's IF he lands on a team that doesn't already have strong WRs in the 1 and 2 spots and also has a decent QB

This is like going from healthy Week 4 to Injured Reserve and you didn't know it was happening
It's like going to the dentist and not even getting a courtesy novocaine shot in the gums let alone some good laughing gas before they drill down
This is depressing enough to go thru a McDonald's drive thru and get a couple double cheeseburgers to help ease the pain

Someone,I assume Adams, was trying to put the word out yesterday the injury was legit and he'd be able to return in 1-2 weeks.

I don't buy it.

Adam Snifter is going to break the news Sunday morning
Thinking very early next week at earliest, teams won't want that distraction before a game.

Wk 6 Trade/Tarvel...Wk 7 Trade
Since I'm not buying the hammy I think we have a shot to see him as soon as next weeks MNF game. Not counting on it, but a shot and would be a fun game to see him unveiled for his new team.

Agree and disagree, with Davante. Sure, he wants money, but he only cares about himself and his stats, so he wants a capable QB. I guarantee he'd be fine and dandy right now on the Raiders if Carr was still there, even if they went 0-17. He is an athlete that would rather look good losing than look bad winning. Watch the Netflix series Receiver and you will grow to hate him. Now he's basically holding out on his own team.

Sure feels like one of those scenarios where as long as he is a Raider that hamstring is bothering him. The moment he is a Jet he is able to log a full practice. Ha ha

I think I heard the trainers on the Jets have a case of the magic hamstring spray they use in soccer to miraculously cure a guy who everyone else thinks is just flopping
Similar to the Rams' magic back salve that cured Jalen Ramsey the day he pouted his way out of Duval.

Where can I find the pharmacist who makes these?

Davonte posted a pic of Edgar Allen Poe on his socials.

Clearly this is a The Black Cat reference, and he is excited about joining the Panthers.
:oldunsure:
I viewed it as him wanting to be a Raven.

#nevermore
Yes I was kidding.

Surely you weren't serious.
I wasn’t serious. And stop calling me Shirley.
Shirley was my 2nd ever girlfriend in the 80s. Did you live just outside of Portland Oregon in the 80s?

Oh dude, put this guy on the Ravens.

Helllllls yeah, Lamar owners.
Baltimore wants to run and Lamar isn’t exactly the most accurate passer in the league. No thanks as an Adams owner

This

Yeah, gonna have to tip my hand a little and just say no. Adams wants to go to the Jets. It's been preordained to get him there. What do we have to lose? Haason Reddick? Get the 'Boys involved and let's get it done.

Steelers might be willing to eat more $

Sorry, Rock, but I can't let that happen as a Garret Wilson owner. I already have my team in place to block any potential trades to the Jets. You'll have to settle on another team.

Beginning of the year Mina Kimes says Commanders. So says Barnwell in his article a day or so ago. Cap space, ownership, playoff potential. Everything.

Thus it was, and it was done. You hear that, Blade? Works for all of us.
Mina ❤️

She’s good. Usually I’m a contrarian by disposition, but she’s agreed-upon as a good analyst by so many and I can’t quibble.
