Not that their word is gospel and people can take their opinions with a grain of salt but I was just running some errands and listened to a Move the Sticks podcast with Jeremiah/Brooks discuss the trade. I personally think it's good to get opinions from knowledgeable people who are not biased with their fantasy teams but I will say their opinions are pretty much in lock step with mine so easy for me to get behind and it goes like this:
They both studied Adams film and concluded he can't get a lot of separation and he's a declining player who is not what he was two years ago but still he still believes he's elite and those players can be difficult to deal with.
Jeremiah made a point I was already thinking that Lazard would not see the field if he played for most teams but with Rodgers and his familiarity with him he's not only playing but productive. And the theory goes, which again I agree with, that if Rodgers can make Lazard productive he can surely make Adams more productive.
Both of them worried about the impact on Wilson and wondered if he'll be unhappy and whereas they both felt Davante was a descending player they also both felt Wilson was ascending player. The later part of that should be obvious.
Well he did have 103 receptions for 1144 yards and 8 TDs last season.
Has he declined that much in 9 or 10 months? Just because you agree with a couple of podcast guys doesn’t make it so. I’d rather not go out on a limb and just observe and see what happens.
No, he started to decline previous to last season.
Keep in mind, and I think you know this, I framed my post as a "real life" football post from people without a fantasy bias. What Davante Adams did last year was accumulate fantasy spots out of sheer high usage. It does not mean he was real life very good and pretty far from elite. I mean he had the same amount of yards as George Pickens, excpet he needed about 70 more targets to do it. I don't really think in real life context citing those stats really shows anything.
